Ok, so having been happy with my Sennheiser HD 660S with a little EQ via a Schiit Loki (because I want a little more bass and a bit more top end too) I decided to explore Moode as it has parametric EQ which I've read about on ASR but it's not been something I've managed to get working with just mpd on Raspbian.

So I started with Oratory1990's data:

https://www.reddit.com/r/oratory1990/wiki/index/list_of_presets

which has two links - "Harman target (Over-Ear)" and "Optimum HiFi Curve". Not entirely sure of the difference but it's the Harman one I went for as that's what I keep reading about. But those links use different filter types: peak, high shelf and low shelf. The documentation for Moode is....well, where is it? The front end has not option for filter type and I believe I read somewhere it's only of the peak variety. What to do. Just ignore it? Googling further led me to the AutoEq project:

https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq

and there are several pages for my headphones there including an oratory1990 related one, but which uses only peak filters:

https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/Au...n_over-ear_2018/Sennheiser HD 660 S/README.md

I've entered these and the result sounds good to me but I have two issues I wonder if anyone here can help me with:

1) Moode operates via a webpage and to test EQ you make the changes, save them and then click test. This starts the currently playing song from the beginning. You can then tweak the config unheard, save, then test and it starts the song from the beginning again. Truly horrific. Obviously what I need to be able to do here is to play a song then make changes on the fly, switch between presets etc and get a feel for how it alters the sound (as I understand that the bass, and to a lesser extent the treble, is a matter of personal taste/cup seal/head size/ear shape/glasses/pinna etc related). Is there a solution here?

2) There's a note on the AutoEq site saying:
"Keep in mind that different parametric equalizers will produce different outcomes with the same parameter values. Parameters produced by AutoEq are equal with EqualizerAPO using 48 kHz sampling rate. When using other equalizers or sampling rates, it's always highly recommended to check that the frequency response of the equalizer matches the parametric eq curve in the graphs." How do I square that with the Moode EQ? Do I use the figures as-is? Is there some formula I need to apply to the AutoEq figures?
