Recently I got those 4 speakers for Atmos duty upgrading from smaller sibling c265idc.
Previous speakers I used a small 12” x 12” box and they were crossed at 80Hz. Now I’m discovering, despite bigger 8” vs 6” driver they only extend to 107Hz due to smaller enclosure.
Two questions
- is it big deal for Atmos ? Will I enjoy bigger speaker regardless of its lesser output under 100Hz?

Edit:
Got them room corrected and seems Dirac was able to push them to 55Hz@-6dB which probably- how bizarre

- can I drill some holes / vents to improve frequency response or that would be bad idea?
one of the worst ideas I've read on here, no offense :D

It's not just the holes that give speakers better bass extension, it's those coupled with the right woofers and precisely designed tubes going into the cabinet.

Just drilling holes into a sealed speaker will simply ruin it.

A quick google search shows that these are 3-way in-ceiling speakers which means that they are designed for an infinite sized enclosure (aka infinite baffle) as opposed to a small box. The obvious solution is to cut a hole in ceiling and use them as designed.
