MoFi Sourcepoint V10 Master Edition

Are you assuming that just because Andrew left that Mofi will stop making the 4 speakers that are already in production? I can't see that happening.
Not sure of the details of their arrangement but I didn't want to take any chances and ordered the black grilles just in case!!

I tried to do Famous PIONEER... I really did... but it was beyond my meager skillz.

I guess we will have to wait for Axpona to find out if Mofi squeezed a final design out of Andrew before he left. The only thing I can think of would be a center or surround speaker.

Can't imagine them going that route given they're primarily 2ch but you never know! I think they might just recommend a single SP8 or SP10 flipped on it's side.

heck, anybody could use the name Pioneer as long as they keep the P lower case.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I think my generation would've enjoyed it much, much more in our "formative years" if Capital P Pioneer had stuck with their original company name: Fukuin.

Ahem. In all seriousness, the company was founded by the son of a missionary and chose to honor his parent & his faith with the name (despite my churlish and puerile joking around).

Interestingly, Crown in the US (not to be confused with a later Japanese audio/radio brand also called Crown!) likewise was founded with a missionary, umm... mission. Crown (long based in Elkhart, Indiana and now, of course part of Harman, I mean, Samsung) used the tagline Built Missionary Tough in early advertising for their products, such as their redoubtable tape decks.
Well, it's a bit of a detour, but that's okay because this is very interesting.
Sorry English is not my native language.
I was trying to say opposite.
Pioneer can you use his name on old products design by him, but also new lines... not that he does.... but interesting:oops:
Of course he can still use his name in future he was born with it,they can't stop him from doing that.... funny how corporate world function:eek:

I don't believe this will happen, nor will the subwoofer in this line Mofi source point V 10,or 888 not that he needs one:p

Yes, I did understand -- your communication was perfect. :)
I was extending your statement to its illogical extreme (for the purpose, or at least the intent, of humor) by inverting it -- if Pioneer could use Jones' name, Jones (or someone else) could use Pioneer's name -- if they don't use a capital "P" or Pioneer's logo or trademarked (?) font/typography.

Yes, the ownership of one's own name in the for-profit world can result in odd outcomes: ask the aforementioned Bob Carver, who started at least three companies bearing parts of his own name, then relinquished or lost control of them. Mark Levinson has experience with this as well. ;) EDIT: come to think of it, Saul Marantz also sold his own company along with its (his) name.

Would have been cool to a similarly sized tower subs with 3x12” woofers!

Yes, and I thought it was a joke:D
I wasn't sure though, but I love reading this site because of people who put a smile on my face like you:)
Thank you for that and I look forward to reading your comments.

Good news! AJ’s still working for MoFi, this new venture simply allows him to explore some designs outside of their planned direction. Guess I jumped the gun on the speaker grilles but the black ones do like good!

Again, it will be interesting to see what else he’s got up his sleeve, both for MoFi and Jones & Cerreta!

Bill

Does anyone know if the Mofi booth at Axpona will have the V10's there? The CAF show has just had their records the last two years

I have the V10 on the same day as you. I mainly listen to classical music. I really like the performance of the V10. My previous speakers were the Piega Coax 511. I don't think the V10 needs a subwoofer, although I have a trinnov Altitude 16 and MK X12. Below are the V10 curves and RT60 measurements I took (red is the right channel).

How do feel about the mofis at 5000€ considering the Piegas are around 12k? Did really the mofis undercut ?

Similar to Karl Heinz fink. He has two brands, then he also provides consulting for lot of other brands like AVM, q Acoustics, sonoro, naim etc.

I confirm that I prefer the performance of the V10. In terms of treble, the Piega is more beautiful, but overall, I think replacing it with the V10 is an upgrade.

Or does anybody recognize those concentric looking speakers as an existing brand or speaker design? I
Altec Lansing 604E2 I would say

I asked myself how nice it would be if AndrewJones would take his fighting gloves off and come join us in some real [On/Off-Topic] banter.
I realized I was even too lazy to answer..., let alone find an email [?] address to invite him.

Has that happened before here, an invitation? How did it go? Were appropriately dire warnings issued in advance?

One would think he'd be aware of a place such as this.
