mission brand speakers?

Thanks - I assumed since the speaker was so old I did not even try to locate the manufacture.. Thanks for the quick response. Dave

I came across a new pair of Mission QX3-ii's going for $660 AUD and couldn't resist the 42 and 36hz at -3 and -6db respectively. Hopefully the generally acceptable tuning of the LX3 ii reviewed here translates, will update with impressions once they come in.

I have 20 year old Mission M5DS Bipolar rear surround speakers in my living room...

They have a relatively high WAF value due to their colour and the flush fit back against the wall (I ran cables behind the drywall into a box that's hidden by the speakers)

These Mission bipole rear surrounds are great for the common living room situation where you "got to have" the couch flat against the rear wall.
Even though the manual may say to put them high above the listener's head, I would recommend to not put them higher than the underside of them reaching right over the tallest listener's head. Their vertical directivity leaves a lot to be desired. Once I lowered them the surround experience was much better.
Of course them being fairly flat, they don't have a lot of bass extension, so you will want to cross them over to a subwoofer.
