miniDSP Tide16 - Holy Grail with 16 Channel Atmos/DTS:X, high SINAD

They added input PEQ post hoc on the Flex HTx so I suspect we'll see it added in here too.
I hope so, the difference is, the Flex HTx allows only 10 PEQ on each side, the Tide 16 has 20, and has 8 more channels to process, but again let's hope so.

On flex series the input PEQ is only available when not using Dirac. Tide has a lot more processing power so maybe it could be added upstream of Dirac. Or maybe not. We’ll have to wait and see.

I think that is the case except you may be able to use it before running Dirac and after that it would likely be locked as is the case with the output, though there is an outside chance that it might not be locked, being on the input side. As you said, have ti wait and see.

Nice to see trigger input. Thinking I'll get a Wiim ultra to manage TV and Spotify auto source selection and auto standby.

Trigger to the minidsp which should stop it getting hot from running all the time like my flex

With the potential change in tariff, when is the Tide16 coming? I guess I’ll ask in the MiniDSP forum.

They have not announced the date but they have announced recently again that they will soon announce.

Which given it has been announced twice before means nothing. It could ship next week or there could be another 3 months or more of delay…

So what?
Its the same for EVERY complex new product.
No it’s not either companies do not even announce the product until they have a definite shipping date that they can keep to or they make development announcements and upfront say there is no confirmed shipping date.

It is marketing 101 not to announce you will ship something then fail to do so.

All that may be true in Never Never Land, but reality is different.
AudioControl told us the competing APR-16 would arrive in 2025Q5, and they're just now starting to ship in 2026Q2.
It happens over and over again. It shouldn't, but it does.
I tend to take what "marketing" says with a pinch of salt.

Correction: 2025Q3 for the APR-16

There's your problem: you believed a Q5 exists. ;)

It's marketing 201 to build demand with pre-release expectations.

We haven't quite gotten to 100 pages in this thread but 77 pages is pretty impressive w/o a shipped product! The hype is real!
Perhaps they are waiting until we reach 200 pages? Or more? More hype could be better for marketing, but then knowing that they are releasing a first of a kind product with "starter kit" to be improved in the future could raise some concerns. What if it does not sell well and improvements in the future are not what people are expecting?

Don't want to jinx it as always good to have more good options for the consumer, but as they say, investing has risks and past performance does not guarantee future performance (standard disclosure for financial investments in most jurisdictions).

Personally, I think that's very unlikely.
It is actually very likely that they will not sell many units as AVPs are endangered species altogether. What would for them constitute solid sales is based on their expectations. Despite the attempt to differentiate themselves from AVPs, they are in that space either with one leg or more likely one and a half. It is already a well covered space and about to get more crowded with further ART AVP announcements.

People, especially around here, like to complicate things to the max. In reality, life is not that complicated - at least IMO.
