miniDSP HTx Signal Flow Diagram Template

We just published our first in a series of three videos on the miniDSP Flex HTx. This initial video is a miniDSP Flex Overview using Device Console that explores basic functions. Our next two videos will focus on creating a home theater setup and a 4-way active system.

In order to help visualize HTx configurations, we created a Signal Flow Diagram template. We found a template helped make finding a good configuration more intuitive.

We're hoping that others can take advantage of this template to explore and share their system configurations. To get the ball rolling, here's our example of a four-way active stereo system.

Random question but does the htx flex allow for multiple inputs to be routed to the same output?

Can I have audio from a mix of sources coming in at the same time and playing simultaneously from the same output?

Yes it does.

You cannot mix the signal types, but you can get multiple channels with analog (rca or xlr), usb, coax/toslink, hdmi in. But you cannot mix say HDMI with USB.

You could mix multiple analog inputs together into a single output, this is called down-mixing, see image.

That answers my question. I guess there is no way to route 2 separate digital, or a digital and analog input to the same outputs?

Just wondering if there was a "hacky" way to switch inputs without having to do more than just switching off my first source (e.g. TV) and turning on my other one (e.g. streamer), or having to purchase extra stuff.

Not at the same time. Though you can route digital inputs to same or different analog outputs. But you need to select source, and only one can be active at the same time.

If you have DAC for your digital sources then you can play them at the same time through minidsp 8 analog inputs
