I have tried everything I can think of. Minidsp forum is down right now. I'm using it to run 4 subs 1 Input. The model is minidsp flex with dirac live. I set subs crossover at 80hz low pass. I have all output getting signal from dirac 1. Avr is a anthem avm70. When I go into dirac calibration u can really hear the subs but dirac has a problem says low signal to noise floor. So I gave up on that problem for now but shouldn't I still get sub output when I turn up the gains? I got some screen shots also. Should i use the direc option with the flex for subs or just turn it off?

I suggest turning off Dirac and use your AVM70’s ARC instead.

I think you should turn off the crossovers in the Mindsp as well, as this is handled by the AVM70’s bass management.
Anyway, you must turn them off when doing a Dirac calibration if you want to keep Dirac.

I did try turning off dirac and crossover no change. Also I tried to use the avm70 arc software but no output and arc called it out as a problem. If I plug the subs into the xlr from avm70 works as normal but plugged into the minidsp flex very low output with gains very high.

You might actually be victim of a firmware bug I’ve seen quite a few times. Try to do a refresh of both the DSP and Xmos firmware on your unit and see if that helps. Power cycling a few times may also be worth a try.

Funny u say that. I did try to update the dsp and firmware. I don't think it did anything or any updates. Tomorrow I can try to do a reset.

Looks like you’ve tried most of the tricks in the book. Issue a support request at MiniDSP ….

Good luck with that. I had a unit with kind of the same fault, and got a replacement unit delivered in just 2 days :)

Found out it wasn't the minidsp at fault. It's the avm70 subwoofer output. I have had to set it to +7 output to get enough drive for the inputs on the subs or the minidsp. And even with that on the flexni have had to turn up the input gain by +5 and the mix gain by +6 dB. Seems like to much gain to have everything sound so weak.

That sounds strange to me. I have an AVM70 myself, and is also using MiniDSP for my subs. Actually need to reduce the input level on the MiniDSP by 15 dB. Have you tried using the AVM70's second subwoofer output? Needs to configure the AVM70 to use two subs.

How do u stop the avm70 from freaking out when it doesn't see a sub on output 1 in arc? I will try second xlr out on sat when I get some time.

That's gonna be a problem....
I suggested this test just to see if there's a problem with the AVM70 sub1 output.

Is your MiniDSP a balanced version with TRS connectors?
