How do you get your mid-bass kick?
I really like the kick I get from a set of KRK-V-88's
Dual 8" in ported cabinet. KRK sold these as studio monitors during the hip-hop and rap growth spurt.
I disabled the onboard plate amps and power mine with a custom push pull tube amp for the 2- 8" and a KT-88 for the onboard cubase tweeter and the ESS Amt's on the top.
This setup has a good punch for rock and techno.

What do you use?

Pro Audio Tannoy V12s.

- 12" Woofer, 97dB Sensitivity, 126dB Peak.

(Definitely more slam than I need in my flat.)

The old KEF 103.2's were great for midbass punch, think they had an intentional bump in that region to make up for the fact bass only reached around 60Hz. Impressive things for midbass, highly recommend. The weren't overly bad in general, especially for the era.

What is mid bass? It's not clearly defined when I look it up.

With ESS you don't need the onboard tweeter. Actually it's better without it.

KH420s, 10" woofer only doing low end to low mids.

Not really "mid-bass", but a pair of DIY 15-insh subs.

This is a picture of my giant DIY VU Meters, but you can also see my equally ridiculous speaker stack!!! :D It's an old project but they still aren't completely finished yet...

I'm covering them with leather-look vinyl, like they do with guitar cabinets. That's partially done since the picture was taken. And they will have grills, hopefully-eventually.

I bet your neighbours love you, they certainly have displacement.
