May have missed something here, but is this your Micca?
Yes, this is the woofer in the G2 version I purchased for a bedroom system for my daughter. When I was testing them out, I noticed the woofers became loose when playing deep bass. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning them only to possibly receive another set with the same issue. You can see that the MDF or pressboard they use does not hold the screws well. I just filled all the holes with wood filler and a small piece of a wooden toothpick and let it dry and then re-secured the woofers. So far it seems to have solved the problem.

I had happened to take the picture when I took the woofer out so I though it would at least give you one view of the magnet which seems to be bigger than what is in the Gen 1 version of this speaker (at least based on the manufacturers picture below). In my picture you can also see that there is some insulation inside and the internal wiring is also in a sheath.

For those taking these apart a better solution might be T-Nuts, if you can find some of the correct size & shape. You may have to change thread type, metric to U.S. or vice versa. Good luck!

'Micca Outlet' at Amazon (USA) is currently selling refurbished MB42X G2 loudspeakers for $95.99/pair.

Hello Experts, Has any one tried mixing it with RB42. I have a center channel RB42C. MB42X G2 looks intriguing. Will it be fine to get MB42X as the front and rear channels. I use an AVR (Denon1600x). Or should I just get RB42 for surround channels.

I can't find the Micca MB42X G2 in stock anywhere. Wonder how long before it's available in the US again.

I'm just getting into home audio and was really hoping they'd get another shipment in stock ahead of the tariffs but no such luck. Now I guess I have to decide whether to pull the trigger at a 40% premium or just keep waiting and hope that sanity eventually prevails.

1) look for same model in second hand market.
2) or for that matter any good used mint bookshelf.
3) there are few diy bookshelf on the forum. Which can be made by self or ask friend to make them.
4) there is list in forum for passive speakers.
5) at 81db sensitivity you may need powerful amplifier. Kindly consider that in budget.

They have a 4 inch midwoofer. They probably hit xmax at 15-25 watts.
If you want loud, you don't need a more powerful amplifier, you need a bigger midwoofer.

I would not enjoy paying $139.99 knowing that some of the price was due to the imposition of a tariff. I regard the measured performance of the Micca MB42X G2 loudspeaker a good value at $139.99 a pair.

I am no expert but for transients it may require more power.

Sometimes Hifi prices is complex to understand from country to country.
This Micca model is available here (India) for around 160 US $.

offtopic :
I dont understand hifi price hike. Few years back Marantz PM6007 price were increased by 30/40% and PM8006 prices were almost doubled here. Probably with no reason. OR sales were good and supply short may be the reason. They are made in Vietnam.
regards.

If it's hitting xmax the last thing it needs is more power. The not-so-bad scenario is distortion going through the roof. The worse scenario is moving parts hitting stationary parts and possibly causing damage.

£95 on amazon.co.uk so ~$125. That's including 20% VAT which we pay on almost everything, not just imports - assuming no tax fraud from the importer with a short Amazon history.

'Micca Outlet' is currently showing inventory of six pair of 'renewed' variants of the Micca MB42X G2 loudspeaker for $94.99 a pair with fulfillment by Amazon USA.

Mine just arrived in pretty shocking condition for a supposedly "refurbished" product. One speaker had all four woofer screws stripped out - two were floating loose in the box when it arrived and the other two were literally hanging on by a thread. Lots of little bits of disintegrated MDF stuck to the grill. It seems like at least one other person has had the same experience. Not sure if I'll give Micca another chance or if this is the universe's way of telling me to buy some Neumi BS5s instead. :)

I got lucky. My "renewed" pair came in the original packaging including a plastic bag around each speaker. All screws were in place, but I snugged them up just in case.
