Message to golden-eared audiophiles posting at ASR for the first time...

Award for probably one of the best answers to Hooper! LMAO :)

That says more about your standards for discussion than anything else.

“I can’t or won’t rebut the response to my claims…so I’ll just ignore their points and reply with snark instead, while putting the blame on them.”

It’s the lazy way out when someone points out problems with an argument.

I’m just glad it was all used gear, so I’m only out all the shipping and packaging costs.

Secret: I still have a gear fetish. I just know what it is, a fetish.

define, "be dicks"... while keeping in mind, they tend to swing both ways...

I'm pretty sure he's noticing the difference between someone trying to express arguments, respond to points and asking questions to understand the viewpoint of the other person...vs someone taking the opposite approach of making conversation impossible by remaining terse, not responding to content, and substituting snarky replies instead.

You have an odd rhetorical habit of answering for others and then asking for their affirmation of your response after the fact... that tactic is manipulative as well as impolite...

I understood what he meant. He's acknowledge under my comment that I got the gist.

for brevity's sake I won't define your tactic here as it may be construed as a personal insult towards yourself... however, please dispense with your nonsense if you would ever like to be taken seriously....

About being taken seriously...

I honestly wanted details on your view. However...

The reason the conversation was made so impossible, which I suspect Gringoaudio noticed, is the character of posts like yours...

Making snarky comments about and "laughing" at other forum members while strawmanning the discussions....

And when your strawmen are pointed out...

And you are asked to clarify whose argument you are mocking

You provide single word answers that don't clarify anything

And give more sarcastic non-answers, on the pretense that I wasn't asking for you to clarify your view

There's a well known word for that type of forum behaviour....entering with mocking, refusing to interact fruitfully, evading reasonable questions and substituting chain-yanking instead. Not the first time.

Yes I owned the stand mounted MBL 121 Radialstrahler speakers.

(Which have since been replaced in their line-up with two newer stand mount models: the smaller 126 and the larger 120).
Could you share with us why do not use these anymore. I was very favorably impressed with their cheapest floor standing model 40.000€. I gave up on omnis a long time ago, but these represent a whole new perspective, they will surely lead to more affordable model the way ESS went down market.

It's impolite only in a way that by using it you are kind of implying you think the person you are responding to is stupid enough to not see through that.

I just did to you in private. Let me know if you need anything else defined that eludes you.

You not think some gear is made to measure, rather than to sound? Topping DACs, well, China is hot on face value marketing.
What signal coming from a DAC and contributing to sound can not be measured in your opinion?

Are we doing this again already? Can't we let Matt and thecheapseats fight it out first before we get taken on by another troll? The initial supposition proposed by the new guy does not bode well for a nuanced discussion.

Don't mind me, I'll just keep on pushing for people to stop using wines to explain audio.

Is presenting the same wine in two differently labelled bottles somehow saying something erroneous about *wines* to you?

It's not used to 'explain audio'. It's used to illustrate psychological bias.

And if nothing else, 'wines' are far, far better to use than *cars*.

When do you think these goals are in conflict? (I can imagine just a few, but I'm interested in your take)

Honestly I'd be impressed. That kind of volates what we know about acoustics, electronics etc.
