Member from France : my system in picture! NEW Denon 6800

I listen to a maximum of 88db my music in stereo.

Yes I am in optional gain "setting 1" because I use an RCA to XLR cable

if necessary , I can put an RCA to RCA cable to put option 2

as said AdamG247, I should ask by message to audiophonics

is there a reason why you're using RCA to XLR cables when have both options on the amplifier?

yes because the purifi amplifier designer BoXem audio said that it was a terrible mistake to use an RCA RCA and that it should not exist

Yes ... and it wasn't an easy decision to make because that's what everyone has about RCA at home.
In short, RCA is a problematic nest, between the ground loops and the signal passing through the shielding, it should be prohibited by law: D. I'm exaggerating a bit but not that much.
So we prefer to direct our customers to good RCA-XLR cables, or to provide them ourselves at reasonable prices, rather than continuing this tradition.

I also like the "before" picture. Maybe because I'm a bit sleepy and that bed looks comfy.

well you have your options.

either raise the gain or be satisfied with the dynamic range you have right now.

I forgot !

I also went through RCA-XLR because I had a ground loop! but it came from my computer which was on the same outlet as the purifi amp I have since solved this problem so I can retest RCA RCA

the difference between 2 VRMS and 4 VRMS is 6 dB.

do you think the volume knob on the Denon is always so high that these extra 6 dB are necessary?
It is 6dBu.

Doesn't translate to any dB in the acoustical domain, without considering amp gain, speaker sensitivity and so on.

thank you I am reassured :)

I imagined having to return the purifi to audiophonics ... :(

I still have to do the test with RCA and maximum gain

I'm amazed and will keep it in mind that you can fit such system in a 20m² 530 X 390 room .
What is the height of your basement's ceiling?

What are you surprised at? too small ?

2M30 in ceiling height

Well, I tested in RCA RCA gain 2 and I have more power. And it is no longer at + 7db. Good.

BUT: I took the opportunity to do tests all day long with and without a "purified" amp. I didn't notice ANY difference.

It is in the box for a return to the seller.

I will do with the Denon x3700. It is more than enough in my 20m2

Thanks for those who helped.

You will want to rerun Audyssey calibration again. To reset the channel trims. Just FYI. I think you made the right decision here.

Yes, for each test I had to do an audissey calibration

it was long enough

Fortunately I had a week left to return the purifi

back tomorrow,

he leaves

Hello, some news: still happy with my system! especially for gaming and watching movies

I had returned the purifi so I am with the denon and it works well
