A Monolith 7x200w .

For initial testing I have a C208 powered directly from my Denon 3700H. I don't usually sit more than 7 feet away. 89dB sensitivity, 75dB average desired listening volume with 20dB headroom means I shouldn't usually need more than ~25-30 watts, so the Denon should be enough, yes?

I don't see why not. I just got a good deal on the amp and I sit farhter away but for what you are describing you should be all good for sure :)

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I should be concerned about the Denon being able to handle the ~3.4 Ohm impedance dip at ~100 Hz. Eventually I'll move into a bigger space and I can always revisit at that time.

Which would you prefer for a center channel speaker: Revel C208, Genelec 8351B, or the ELAC Uni-Fi 2.0 UC52? Custom DIY Purifi-based center speaker?

Cost is a consideration, performance more of a consideration. Usual seating distance is ~6'-10'. 1-3 people. Would like it to be useable in a larger space if/when needed. The 8351B seems to be best in class, but is ~twice as expensive as the C208. Common sense says get the UC52 first and try it out, but FOMO says get the 8351B while Sweetwater is offering 0% APR for 36 months.

Someone talk sense to me.

These are all quite different and if you're willing to spring for a 8351B, why not c426be aside from real estate?

Real estate was a hard blocker for the c426be. Maybe someday. c208 was quite the chunky monkey to squeeze in as it was.

After wrestling with some audible issues, I realized something which is obvious in retrospect: if you're running mixed brand speakers with differing FR profiles, you should EQ the whole frequency range and not just up to ~500 Hz. Otherwise stuff is going to sound wrong. Like I wrote, it's obvious in retrospect.

I am still experiencing some nulls in the ~120Hz range which appear to be room modes. I can't alter the room dimensions, so I'm going to try a DIY panel with 4" of Rockwell on the back wall to see if that helps at all.
