Measuring Music Files/Tracks

Hi All,

I'm thinking of starting to measure comparable music tracks/files since I found out that my hearing is no longer as keen as it was a few years back when I was in my teens. What will I need, and how should I go about it? I have a Motu M2 (with loopback) which could be helpful

What exactly is it that you are trying to measure? Do you want to look at their spectra, do you want to determine the difference between them? @pkane's DeltaWave software may be what you're looking for, it's got a thread here somewhere.

Here is a post on Deltawave. At the bottom are links where you can download it. Paul (pkane) has also put together a few other useful bits of software. Distort lets you dial in types and amounts of distortion. Multi-tone lets you use various multi-tone test signals.

Another software worth knowing about though oriented toward measuring gear rather than comparing musical tracks is REW. Room EQ Wizard.
