Someone on YT compared his measurement tower measurements of the same speaker to a ground plane measurement, paying very close attention to keeping all other variables the same. Erin and others have compared 4pi to GPM before, but I believe this is the first such comparison that we've seen, that really captures the lower frequencies as well. Very interesting comparison and results.

When Erin was testing out ground plane measurements he demonstrated that you need a LARGE hard surface like a concrete driveway/patio or maybe an indoor basketball court. Grass, a strip of pavers, and sheets of plywood absorbed some of the low frequency SPL and were not accurate enough. This pic of his test with pavers looks similar to Stoneeh's setup.
