I wasn't complaining at all. You are reading too much into my train of thought. Just wondering why would a manufacturer underspec their product or get it so wrong. This is not the first time I came across reviewer finding more Watts than specified.
Now that I am thinking of it, I want to complain about it
Of course. That would be worse. Why do you even question that?
Depends on what you mean by EXACTLY.. If it's few percentages off, that's fine. To miss mark by 80% would be not OK with me.. What else are specs for?
Thank you for not blundering more...
Please correct me if I am wrong here:
As far as I can figure, the object of testing is to see if an item does not meet (or meets and or exceeds) it's specifications. And, in general, is considered to be a great product if it does the latter.
And, in this case, the product exceeds the latter.
Also, being a Pre-Amp, it has various ways of adjusting the output power.
Therefore, if one does not need the extra power that it is capable of, then one can throttle the level back.
Or simply get a different unit.
I do not see an issue here. (Unless their was no way to use less than the maximum output).
The specs are the minimum guaranty, as far as I know, there is no maximum % of how much better than the spec it is allowed to be.
I feel like I may be missing something here.
So, I mistook what you said as being a complaint. Which you have explained that it is not.
As I have never, in my 52 years, involved in audio, (and living, at one point or another, in more than 1/4 of the worlds countries) ever heard anyone say anything like that.
Therefore, I made the mistake of viewing it as a complaint. Please accept my apology.
Maybe it's not meant for me to understand it.
