I saw this announcement on an Shezhenaudio's post, looks like very interesting devices. Matrix Audio has always measured well and has been refining their streaming software for some years now, including Roon Ready support.

Saw this too, and I was wondering, if I don't use Roon, will I be able to take advantage of WIFI from the Pro version and play music files from my NAS?

As I understand you can’t. The mini comes with ma player lite which doesn’t support ma remote on mobile. If you don’t use Roon the only options are Bluetooth and airplay.

Matrix audio products are becoming more and more interesting !!
I was looking for a streamer/dac and volume control. I'm hesitating in element i and i mini 3 pro.
I don't want to be financially linked to Roon ... and matrix audio offers : MA remote !!

1°) MA Remote : it's an application which has the same principle as BluOs ?!
2°) element i is compatible with MA Remote, is i mini 3 pro compatible ?
3°) if it's not ... without using Roon, is there such a qualitative way to listen to music ?

thank you for your help ;)

just read the thread on "element i" and I got my answers !

1°) yes, by streaming on WLAN / LAN
2°) no, no UPnP/DLNA
3°) by Bluetooth and AirPlay only, requiring resampling.

if it can be used ?!...

Also my understanding - good for Roon users but better to consider element if you don’t want to be bound to Roon. There will always be better software in the future :-)

Hi @MatrixAudio

For the mini-i Pro 3, why is the headphone output impedance so high

11 ohms

Why not < 1 ohms , like has become standard now (for good technical reasons)

This spec come from the TPA6120 headphone amp chip. We use 2 pieces of TPA6120, so at the balanced mode, the maxmium output impedance is 22 ohms.

For unbalanced output, 11 ohms is too high :-(

Lower output impedance, below 1 ohms, should be a key design goal ?

See if can enter the top 10 of ASR ——(DAC and Headphone Amplifier)

How well would this pair with the SC203? Also, I don't know much about audio equipment, but noticed the Mini-i Pro 3 doesn't haven't an optical out, so I assume I'd be connecting it via rca.

Really interested in this one. But I have also a 32Ohm Grado other than HD800s.
Would the pairing be really bad ?

Thanks

@WolfX-700 I took a sneak peak at your web posting. I'm not too familiar with all the terms you used. Any idea what this means for USB listening? I'm also interested in using this devices for the RCA input.

Thanks,
Bryan

I just got my unit and I love having my turntable, airplay, and computer all connected to my speakers and headphones. Sometimes when switching to USB audio via the remote the audio never plays, even though it says it's selected and my computer recognizes the device as online. When using the device to switch to USB audio I don't have that problem. Maybe it was just a glitch.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the device.

After the measurement on my Chinese website was released, Matrix Audio took it very seriously. They quickly contacted me and reproduced the bug based on my measurement settings.
They are about to provide new firmware-the bug has been fixed.
I will also verify the results

@WolfX-700

your site is very interesting, but it would be even more interesting if you gave the most important info also in English ;-)
Now it's like ASR is your translator of your original site.
