So, the tops have a EQ control and Vol control, the subs have an EQ control and Vol control.
How do I match them. And I don't mean "for the room".
This may confuse people.
( Image you have a three way box: you have to match the three drivers to give an overall "flat" response,
that is room independent. Catch my drift?)
So I have matched them by ear for where I sit behind the "console".
I leave the EQ on the Tops zeroed out. and the Vol is at aprox 75%
The Sub treble cut is down til it sounds ok and same with the Vol.
I adjust Vol at my monitor send. Sounds ok to me... but is my mix telling fibs?
I have no test program for "nesting" the Tops and the Sub. Suggestions?
My pal has a UMIK and will bring it over when he is back in town. We will do tests etc.
Any advice accepted except the " get better gear" type exceptions.
I really really like this little system a lot. It's cheap and sounds great to me.
Thank you!
PS Im trying to match the Speakers together, not "to the room".
( we can argue what that means if you insist...)
