Master review index is down?

I spent a while trying to find the searchable, sortable list of products that I had used in the past. Couldn't find it in reviews, forums, or members' tabs. I finally stumbled across the Master Audio Review Index, and this must be what I was looking for, only there is an Error. This is such a great tool and resource that I hope the issues are resolved and it returns better than ever. Godspeed Devs!

Ahem! It's been a while. As a retired software engineer, and considering the powerful debugging tools available to coders these days, I don't understand why this is taking so long.

I used the review index and sorting the results often. I would sort by SINAD for instance. Looking at the Xenforo documentation, it may be possible to return more results on one page. Previously electronics or speakers without a vendor keyword might return 5+ pages. All on one page would be useful. The use case is I'm looking at SINAD or preference score against affordability and recommended/not recommended.

Hi,

it was so great in the old days of the site to go the the page where all reviews where put into their respective category. Anyone got any updates? Seems like it's been given-up on!

Kind regards Mark

I considered the Master Review Index to be increasingly unhelpful because of the accumulating number of reviews that were not added to the Index with a convenient link to the review.

Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. However, this is so so so sad, it was the best feature of the site. I could cut and past entire lists and then put them of order rating, really nice to get an overview! Gutted, would you please consider bringing it back it's clearly liked by so many people, this is almost a deal breaker for me visiting the site. Is there an alternative option, or anything like it? I wanna cry!

Agreed. That seems to take time that Amir does not have. Until that changes consider using the 'Search' box at ASR with the term 'review' and the name of the product to see if it has been measured. I will trade the Index for more reviews with objective measurements.

Any update on the index? The index is what brings the whole site together for me. If there are barriers to bringing it live again, could the raw data be made available via either API or data dump? We can define AOARX (Amir Objective Audio Review Expression) as a new format for exchanging audio review data.

I get credit for the name if it happens.

Amir, we could upload the raw data onto google spreadsheets.
If necessary, we can build quick user interfaces around that data, if the default UX of sheets is not good enough. Is the raw data available as a csv somewhere?

I think Amir probably wants to keep the data on this website as there is probably some right to content law, if I have to take guess.

It should be possible to embed a google sheet IN a page in this site.
Once can then use filters of google sheet. That should solve for the immediate pain.

That's what we had in the original index. It was a huge pain to convert that to usable index display in the forum. It was also easy to screw up the records, have duplicates, etc. A ton of clean up had to occur to get it into the current database.

Nothing to report other than managing to get the attention of the developer. Our options are we keep waiting, have someone else take over the code or start fresh.
Considering how much the Review Index has helped me out, I would gladly spare a weekend or two to try to fix the issue. Please send me a PM. I'm a recent member but a long time lurker.
