I created a geo-location orientated map of audio companies world-wide. It is segmented into countries and product types of the company. See picture attached for the legend, which can also be found on the map by clicking on the „i“ logo on the left side.

In order to filter (lets say see where a specific company is located), click on "Layers"
logo on the left, then "filter". All companies, which do not fulfill the filter query will not be shown on the map anymore. This map is definitely not finished, as a good amount of companies outside of Europe are not yet included (I live in Europe, hence the priority). This is a WIP, so I will continue adding companies.
Please inform me in case you find any out-dated or wrong information in the map. Some of it is based on the „Master List of Speaker companies“ by @sweetchaos (Link to the Master List). Thank you very much for your work! Credits also go out to my fellow students at "International Masters Degree in Electroacoustics" ( IMDEA ) in Le Mans, France, who helped with importing more companies. If you want to dive deep into the physics of electro-acoustics and get in direct contact with a lot of speaker/electro-acoustics companies, this is definitely one of the main addresses to continue your studies in Europe (Link to study course). It is a public university, so no "conflict of ethics" in advertising - I was a student my own and want this program to stay successful.

If you want to contribute, please provide in the format as depicted in the CSV example below. I will not accept contributions without coordinates since it takes a lot of time to retrieve correct addresses and resulting coordinates by hand considering the amount of companies. To obtain „lat“ and „lon“ coordinates on openstreetmap.org : right-click on the location „Show address“ → Left under „Search Results → Internal“, the first number is lat, the second one is lon. On Google Maps, the coordinates directly appear upon right-clicking the location.
Planned improvements
- Implement query for both country and product types, e.g. query „all microphone companies in the USA“ – potentially requires re-arrangement of layers
- Extend to Eastern Europe, then Americas, then Asia (purely because of my home being in Europe)
