I talked to a Sweetwater sales rep and got a price for a JBL 708P in the low 1700 range, which is a better price than everywhere else. If they carry what you want, it's worth contacting them.

For folks who don't buy music (like, instruments, not hifi) gear much, generally if you call them you can get up to a 15% discount pretty easily. This goes for Sweetwater, Guitar Center / Musician's Friend, Zzounds etc. Not sure about Sam Ash. It's not perfectly reliable and doesn't apply to sale items blah blah but it's how that industry niche tends to operate, to try to build customer loyalty with your 'sales rep'. So if you're looking for a music interface, PA power amp etc bargain and don't mind speaking to a human, it's a viable angle.

On the other hand, drop HD6xx are ~$161 with coupon 10OFF which might be the better buy.

Edit: code might not work for every user though (?)
It wouldn't be for me, I have HD600 (which is basically the HD6XX) and the HD560s is far better re soundstage. I use Oratory EQ's with these.

The HD6xx is "basically" an HD650, not HD600.
Yeah, I know, but I'm talking about the physical construction re soundstage influences, the HD600/650/6XX are basically the same headphone. Yes the stock frequency response of HD650 & HD6XX are the same, whereas HD600 is a bit different, but if all are EQ'd to the same curve, then they're basically the same headphone. So I'm just saying that for me the HD560s soundstage is way better than the HD600/650/6XX soundstage, because I know it from owning both the HD560s & HD600.

Yep. The HD600 and HD650 must be more similar in sound signature than any other two different model full sized headphones.

Kef Q-series on sale pretty much everywhere in Canada for BF. Typical prices (from Centre Hi-fi):

Q150 $449/pair
Kube 10 $699
Q550 $998/pair
Q750 $1299/pair
Q950 $1599/pair

I've decided to use the Q950 I bought earlier this year for my 5.1 system instead of my basement stereo, so I took the opportunity to buy a pair of Q150 and negotiated the price down of a Q650c center driver to complete the setup (keeping the SVS PB2000 Pro pro).

Will probably mount a couple of Arendal 1961 Monitors on my basement walls to play with my SVS SB1000 Pro, driven by a Yamaha N803.

Damn I am tempted on the A-S301. Anyone ever see it dip lower?
I’d get the 501 for sure, but if I were you I’d wait. Unless you really want a Yamaha, something better may pop off next week

I think this year they’re starting Black Friday early cause they know everyone struggling with money. Not to poke fun but last year most people had a couple grand saved up from unemployment and what not. This year we are on our own so they’re trying to get sales on fomo

If this holds true cyber Monday deals going to be banging

Thanks for that explanation, that's useful to know.

I went ahead and ordered a 501, but got it on Amazon. If it dips lower, I will return it and pick it for even less. Guess I can do the same if a better integrated pops up in that price range.
