A vendor on Amazon called 'LEAUDIO' is currently selling an amplifier using a TI TPA3255 chip for $39.99 with fulfillment by Amazon.

A subjective review from December 2024 says their sample shipped with a 24 volt, 3 ampere power supply.

The 'Cattle Pro' amplifier features two analog RCA inputs with a switch and an output for an active subwoofer.

Nice $$$ for performance choice. There are several positive reviews online, with most of the negatives referencing the power limitations of the 24V supply and that the chassis/cooling cannot handle a 48v. In blind testing within its power limits (say 25wpc into 8 ohms) I bet it is nearly indistinguishable from more expensive options.

A cheap compatible source component: Amazon has a TAGBUIO L-CD202 portable CD Player with remote (aka Leapwell by by Shenzhen Lipuwei Tech) for $18 after coupon. Any good cheap speakers or DAC/Streamers out there?

Just yesterday I saw some craze about a "killer deal" about an Audioquest cable on a different forum. The price of said cable was reduced from 399.- MSRP to a STUNNING! 179.- and everybody was ordering it left and right.
It may be a bit off-topic here, but it shows you that those egregiously high MSRP price points are nothing but jedi mind tricks to empty peoples pockets.
I pains me to see, that people are delusional enough to pay almost 200 bucks for a piece of copper, when an Amazon Basics RCA cable does the very same thing for 6.99...

How can Audioquest even afford to sell a cable of that quality for $179? They must only be making $174 on every one sold.

Similar to people willing to pay$200000 for a DAC that cannot sound better than one costing $200 or even : $9.95

Amazon's Woot! is selling Kohler showerheads with a Bluetooth loudspeaker - starting at $44.99 - per Slickdeals

Kohler says the loudspeaker was designed in collaboration with Harman.

The loudspeaker attaches magnetically. It can be detached for use elsewhere.

It feels like ages ago that I bought this album on SACD. A friend who (like me) was a die-hard hi-fi magazine fanatic at the time owned it on DVD-A. Using this and a few other albums, we "golden-eared" audiophiles set out to discern the supposed differences during comparative listening sessions. It proved to be a rather frustrating endeavor ... one would sooner be able to distinguish between the numerous remasters (perhaps). Nowadays, I prefer listening to the spatial audio remasters on Apple Music.

Peachtree Audio is offering a one year warranty on select 'pre-owned' Peachtree Audio gear at the link below:

Previously their warranty on pre-owned gear lasted 90 days.

I am uncertain when this changed.

Agreed

Even Crutchfield dot com touts Airplay 2 compatibility can be added to select WiiM devices with the addition of an optional WiiM Mini streamer:

does not support Apple AirPlay/AirPlay 2
  • add AirPlay 2 with optional WiiM Mini (sold separately)

I need a one meter 4-pin XLR male to female cable and I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding one at a fair price. They are all expensive, too long, or 3-pin cables that are mislabeled. Any suggestions? (Building my own is not an option.)
