I just bought a pair of height speakers, though I haven't decided where to mount them, so am looking forward to hearing what I have been missing
The worst part is I paid double what this blu-ray release costs (15 years ago)

Thanks for the info. I'm strictly a 2 channel guy these days and have wondered how the 2 ch mix sounds. I know I'm severely in the minority as most folks buy these discs for the surround mix.

I actually pre-ordered it on Amazon but I canceled the order when it hadn't shipped a week after it's release, even though it showed in stock. Time to order it now!

Also per Slickdeals: Samsung now owns Harman International, which owns JBL and Revel and is doing some massive reorganizing by phasing out its mid-level product lines (the highest price-to-performance but probably lower-profit) speaker series, leaving only the basic entry level (JBL Stage series) and high-dollar professional (JBL Synthesis) series.

And yet more from Slickdeals: JBL's Studio 6 series has been in the US market for only 4 years, during which time they have almost always been sold at full retail. Sadly, JBL is now closing out their high quality compression-driver Studio 6 series (only the in-room models; the in-wall versions are unaffected thus far) but that means excellent clearance pricing for consumers despite the tariff situation which has otherwise driven up consumer audio prices.

I can’t vouch for the statements above in regards to Samsung’s plans for JBL’s production going forward, but a quick look at Amazon does show that most, if not all of JBL’s Studio line is anywhere from ~30% to ~50% off.

I picked this up a couple of months ago and was blown away with how good the stereo and surround mixes are. I will mention it has the modern version of Break on Through with the line "She gets high" complete. My brother was always bothered by this as he had the album from the day it came out and was used to the original version. It is a pretty minor thing overall and I think the high part has been added since the 90s.

Got this one when it came out and it's another release with excellent stereo and surround mixes on the blu-ray. This is part of the current buy 2 get 1 free that Amazon is doing.
