Amazon has a new store in 'beta' on their site - 'Amazon Haul' that appears to compete with other vendors offering inexpensive wares:

I got a WiiM Ultra in Gray today IN STOCK at the old sale price of $304 from ABT. I chatted online and they offered the $304 price. (Had one on order from another company for nearly 2 weeks and they've been OoS.)

I’ve placed three orders taking advantage of the tease 50% discounts plus additional 5-10% off, free shipping. The shipments have arrived faster than the estimated delivery times.

It appears to me to be a bit of a dodge around the April 2nd tariff start. Fine print details the fact ‘you’ as the buyer are the direct importer taking advantage of the small order direct shipping sub $800 tariff exclusion?

I believe that ‘loophole’ might be already slated to be wiped out May 2nd with some new rules but have to do a bit more research. Thought I read/saw some commentary that it was targeted with some special draconian treatment $ fees that would wipe out the routes attraction. YMMV

Question: Does simply putting a pair of these on top of existing main speakers give you decent Atmos effects? (With the appropriate AVR and wiring etc. of course)

In my experience, the answer is tricky. You have to have the right overall angle. In my old setup, the up firing Atmos worked better in the rear.

Second, I started off with a Pioneer Andrew Jones upfiring Atmos speaker and I was not that impressed with it. Better than not having anything but not that great.

I then got one of the Klipsch RP500SA. That worked extremely well. I am not sure if it had a better version of the Dolby Atmos crossover since it actually had then Dolby Atmos logo on it and the option to switch between two different modes (on wall versus upfiring) or if it was because the Klipsch was more efficient and able to throw the sound more efficiently somehow due to differences in dispersion.

For the Pioneer, I wouldn’t have recommended it in my room. But the Klipsch was well worth it until I could eventually install real ceiling speakers.
