Accessories4Less dot com is now showing 'sold out' listings for 'refurbished' KEF Q-Series bookshelf/standmount loudspeakers with Meta

The Q-Concerto are $1,099/pair. The Q3 are $649/pair and the Q1 are $499/pair.

Based on past history, such listings can mean inventory will appear soon for resale.

From what I can see, Ascend performance varies a lot by model, so unless somebody else can measure these, I'd not want them. The Ascend also often have serious distortion kick in around 200hz. The Klipsch are just awful. For 300+ for a pair, I'd wait for a deal on the JBL 3 series or go with many other tested speakers.

I just checked Audio Advice, and they are running the same sale. Neither Crutchfield nor Audio Advice is indicating, at least that I have seen, when the sale ends. Perhaps it will go on until they run out of stock.
 
I was shopping the F228be on January and found a few Revel dealers selling silver at $5600 /pair delivered. Don't know if they are still selling at that price.

I purchased a pair of Revel F328Be's, not from Crutchfield, toward the end of 2024 in silver. I didn't need the speakers, but the price was too good to pass up, and the speakers are great.

Concerning the color: the color silver is more like a very nice grey. I'd like all my speakers, which are Revel gloss black, to be in Revel's silver color. The silver has been discontinued. If you want a shinny silver you will be disappointed. If you want really beautiful grey that essentially disappears, but is a very rich color when you actually look at it, then the silver is for you. The Revel "silver" goes well with the gloss black Revel speakers. I found it impossible to find or take a picture of the speakers in silver that accurately represents the color and how nice it is.

Concerning price: based on what I paid for the F328Be's, the F228Be's or F226Be's should be available for easily under 50% of list. Shoot for prices less than you have been quoted, especially for the F228Be. I'd go for the F228Be unless price is an issue.

Revel evidently offers major discounts on these silver or white speakers to its dealers. Some of the dealers pass on far more of these discounts to customers than others. The speakers will likely ship from Revel directly to you no matter where you purchase them so there are no inventory, handling and often no shipping costs billed to the dealer. Essentially a perfect product for a dealer. Shop around, get quotes from Revel dealers.

Just to entice you to spend more of your money....

I've seen some good prices on the Revel F438Be center channel speakers in a variety of colors over the past six months. Again, better prices are likely available by getting quotes from a variety of sources. Many people have a rather to clearly mediocre center channel speaker, often only a 2-way design. The center channel speaker is arguably the most important speaker in a home theater setup.
