Yeah ok
Just had cause to call apple due to an in warranty failure of an expensive apple case. They seem to have no way of handling warranty of accessories online, so calling was necessary.
Unsurprisingly first point of contact was an AI chat bot. On desribeing the problem "she" put me through to an advisor. Unfortunately advisor could not hear me - though I could hear her - so eventually she hung up.
Called back expecting to have to go through the same rigmarole with the AI chatbot. Didn't need to. Just told "her" the advisor could not hear me - can I be reconnected and "she" just put me through. I was impressed.

I find it hilarious that it's an agenda not to want lose millions of jobs, pay more for electricity and water (and pretty much any hardware with memory of any kind), listen to the noise and have a political system that's pretty much corrupt
The very fact that AI is being used to kill people should in itself be worrisome and lead to massive amounts of public debate but we won't see it
And why are these rich AI overlords basically building bunkers to hide in? It doesn't exactly demonstrate confidence

Anyway, there is a fierce race going on between intruders/scrapers and bug fixers and content/info owners, and there is a race to balloon the bubble. Which we pay for by anything from Cloudflare pop-ups via juicy energy bills (just wait for the upcoming european winter), huge stress on water supplies, and permanent destruction of nature for the energy to balloon the bubble where the benefits are minimal to the people who live there. Swapping servers and patching locally is hardly where the profit and competence resides.

I keep getting my comments about AI deleted over at AudioKarma. I prefer how it is done over here with an area for AI threads. Because I do not consider AI to be an audio thing. It is not. So these threads pop up where someone says that AI told them how to fix their amp or tuner or whatever and frankly I do not even know how to respond to that. AI is merely scraping information off of the internet and we have no idea if that is good or bad information. I think that it's better if people learn actual troubleshooting skills instead of relying on AI. We are becoming lazy... Wall-E...

I don't trust AI. When the World Cup was ongoing I asked what teams remained. There were 6 teams remaining and AI said there were 4. LOL.
Somehow I don't get the attitude that it is going to make all our lives easier. It will get us to stop using our brains at least. If you want to fix an amp or a tuner or whatever then learn electrical troubleshooting and apply it. You just can't use shortcuts in everything you do in life. Then you learn nothing at all.
Train the brain is not obsolete (yet).
For technical training this forum is more than versatile, not?

I remember hearing the same argument for calculators, PCs, GPS etc. and it was probably used for things like slide rules before that. We worked out how to teach the underlying skill before teaching how to use the tool, and perhaps more importantly how the tool could sometimes mislead us if used incorrectly. Some people will use the tool without learning the underlying skill, but they're probably the ones who were never going to learn the skill adequately in the first place.

We don't see it because it happens to happen to humans we don't really care about.
And as for being "good at it", that depends on what the actual goal is. If the goal is to just kill many people of a certain group then it's probably doing just fine.
The sad part is that the core of that crap is going to get integrated here as well and used against civilians and then it'll be too late to complain.
