Very interesting ad on Drop touting “Objective“. Perhaps a hidden reference to ASR ?

Could be. It's also possible that from a brand perspective they're trying to create continuity with some of their other audio collaborations / in-house products. For example:
  1. [discontinued] The Massdrop Objective DAC (ODAC).
  2. The Massdrop Objective 2 (O2).
Given the genesis of those two products I think they may have borrowed NwAvGuy's language. (e.g., NwAvGuy's post about the O2.)
