The dac sounds great, I have ordered a Benchmark HPA4 for it,until that arrives, it is connected to my daughters Meridian M3s, they have a 101B preamp, sounds excellent for a 1981/2019 system.

So why do we have a Class II double insulated symbol and a three pin (earthed) IEC (C13/C14) on a power amplifier? I was under the impression the IEC60320 specified the two pin (C17/C18) plug/socket were to be used for double insulated audio gear.

So why do we have a Class II double insulated symbol and a three pin (earthed) IEC (C13/C14) on a power amplifier? I was under the impression the IEC60320 specified the two pin (C17/C18) plug/socket were to be used for double insulated audio gear.

My understanding is it is not a problem as having a non used earth pin is obviously not a safety hazard for Class 2 as its not required. It's simply redundant and covered by the insulating boot internally.

a Protection Class II connector cannot mate with a Class I inlet which requires an earth); whereas connecting a Class I to a Class II appliance inlet is possible because it creates no safety hazard

Keith, how does it compare to the AHB2?

It’s cheaper !
Ollie I don’t know, I am very much in the low distortion amps sound similar/identical , as long as they are capable of driving the loudspeaker camp.
I can say it is ultra quiet like the Benchmark, he AHB2 has more features, variable gain, I like the Benchmark, like NCores.

Thanks for the offer. I just got 2 AHB2s but the March Audio Amps sound very interesting. A friend is interested in the AHBs as well, but he might try March‘s instead.
