Yes, I know both were reviewed here and based on the reviews alone, x4700h wins, no contest.
However, I am trying to be more than just "pure audio performance" here, as they are both for home theatre setup and I have little to no time sitting down for critical listening.
Did anyone here choose Marantz over Denon and be happy?

I'm desperate for some AVR with Dolby Atmos and currently SR7015 is cheaper than x4700h (it is usually the way around). So as SR6015 vs x3700h (and the difference is even bigger in this case). That and x3800h, really tough choice ...

For me, the SR6013 played better than the Denon 4700. I returned the Denon and to this day I regret that I sold the SR6013 before listening to the Denon 4700. Today I have the SR8015, which is a different level, but this experience cost me a lot of money. If the SR 7015 is cheaper, buy it.

One possible explanation is that you got used to the sound signature of 6013 (HDAM), and when you listen to x4700h which is pretty neutral, the sound can be flat and lifeless to you. If you measured the sound with 6013 you could probably EQ your x4700h to match that.

SR8015 is measured well here so, as long as you happy
