Begüm Tomruk is responsible for industrial design at Marantz. She posted an image with tube amplifiers including the Project T1 produced around 1995.
Marantz produced about 10 prototypes of the 7700 reel-to-reel, but never brought it to market.

A Stereo Review article in April 1979 described this deck as having “…..impressively smooth
tape handling, three speeds, and a comprehensive array of controls for bias and equalization, servicing adjustments, and editing….”
Ben, who owns the unit pictured here, writes “…. the serial number is 000001P. As far as I have been able to ascertain thus far, this may be a prototype (the P in the serial number) and the only one of its kind..”
This unit first appeared in 1978 and after its 1979 Stereo Review, not much else was heard about it. Reportedly designed in the USA but the Rumour is that only 10 of these were built in Japan. So far 2 are known to exist.
The 7700 was a quarter-track stereo deck with three speeds, dual capstan drive, six heads and full auto-reverse functionality. 10½ ” reels could be accommodated and all transport modes were logic-controlled.
