I am currently looking to upgrade from my Marantz Cinema 70s to a Marantz Cinema 60. My main goal is to gain more power headroom without having to purchase a separate external power amplifier.
I have a specific question regarding physical unit noise. My current Cinema 70s is completely acoustically silent; when solely connected to mains power (with no inputs or speakers attached), it emits absolutely zero physical mechanical transformer hum or chassis buzz.
Can any Cinema 60 owners confirm if the larger model is just as physically silent in the room when sitting at idle?
To be absolutely clear, I am not asking about the electronic noise floor or hiss coming through the speakers. I am strictly asking about the physical, acoustic sound emanating directly from the physical metal box itself due to magnetostriction or transformer vibration.
Does the larger transformer in the Cinema 60 suffer from any audible physical hum when connected to the mains, or is it as whisper-quiet as the slimline 70s?
