@kawauso

What is the mounting height of your KEF and JBL atmos speakers respectively ? It seems that ceiling is quite a bit lower in the second pic...

The JBLs are about two meters away. The low-positioned speakers you see at the front are the front height speakers for the Auro format.

Should one use RCA to RCA connection (overhead layer only) or XLR to RCA?

If the latter, what is the correct way to wire the cables?

I’m utilizing Mogami W2549 to fabricate all of the cables. And the bed layer will be fully balanced connection.

Just received a new AV10. It squeaks quite loudly anytime you touch the top or bottom of the back of the case, specifically it's coming from the left rear side as you face it, the side with the power connector.

This is purely mechanical, I haven't even plugged in it. Do others have the same issue with theirs? Pretty disappointing at any price, but especially at this price.

Squeaks as in the chassis is flexing? Are there any loose screws?

Yes like something flexing. No obviously loose screws checking by hand. Any slight press of the leg in that corner makes the squeak, but it's not just the leg as you can press around the area of the leg as well.

Not in my AV20
Something about the rubber feet against the surface you have it set on ?

No I noticed it when I picked it up. You can set it upside down, on it's side, whatever. Tap it and it squeaks.
A video would help

As a social media avoider nowhere to share one. Simple question if you still own the AV10 in your signature, if you push down lightly on the back edge of your AV10 does it squeak? I can put my hand anywhere along the back edge and push down on the top and it will squeak. It squeaks loudest when I push on the left edge (viewed from the front) but anywhere on the back edge makes the squeak. This is not pushing even remotely hard enough to cause the top panel to flex.

If anyone has handled an AV10 they would have heard this squeak if it's normal.

I am on a holiday right now and will be reunited with my AV10 next week :)
I will try then!

Tighten any cabinet fastener that are accessible ?

Noting similar on my AV10. I would return and get a new one just for safety. Things can get complicated if you try to fix it yourself and with such expensive unit you don't want to get in the gray zone.

It just seems the made in Japan thing no longer means much if based on forum posts. We just don't seem to see as many posts about people having to return their X3800 and below, the Cinema 50 and below models. Those are made in Vietnam. The previous generations, including those made in China, Malaysia also seemed to get fewer complaints. I really have to believe it is the implementation/execution of QS/QA systems that are more important than the country such gear are made in. The Anthem AVM90, another relative expensive AV, is also made in Vietnam and I don't hear much about owners having troubles that caused them to send their units back either.

I've seen several posts saying the defect rate on the Japanese manufactured models is higher, but unfortunately at the higher channel count I'm interested in there didn't seem to be a choice.

Thanks for confirming everyone. I just spoke with the dealer and a replacement is on the way.
Now thats the good point of having a great dealer ! :p

??? Thankfully my AV20 seems perfect so far. One of the the worst things that can happen is to stretch your budget for something only to be unsatisfied with the result.
