Go with the AVR-X6800H if you want the best performance to price ratio. The only +ve for the 7706 is XLR I/O, the -ve list is long, such as only 2 subouts, not capable to run Dirac Live, poor DAC IC etc., mediocre bench test results etc., some of those -ve won’t result in audibly poorer sq.
I wish it had xlr inputs and outputs. Also, I have a Parasound A21+ and Outlaw 2220 amp already.

Why not just use RCAs, in any case, measurements often show you get lowest THD+N using RCAs, that's the case with both the A10 and Anthem AVM90 reviews on ASR and/or Audioholics.com

If you have to use long interconnects, such as 4 meters, XLR may be of clear benefit in terms of minimizing common mode noise, otherwise unbalanced/RCAs are just as good, sometime even better.

XLR offers better connections imo, but there really is no gain in terms of sound quality, unless again, you get into noise such as ground loop noise.

The A21 and Outlaw 2220 both have good gain, so there is no advantage to use XLR that offers 2X the voltage.

If you must use XLRs, I would still avoid the 7776, may be take a look of the AVM70.

Thanks. I didn’t know that about rca vs xlr. I just assumed xlr was better all around. At least It looks cooler. I get pretty smokin deals from Marantz. So I’ll try to stick with them. The Anthem looks fantastic though.

Where are the bench test results of the AV7706? I've looked for them for quite some time and have yet to find any. There are dual results for the 7705 (They were supposed to receive a 7706 but got another 7705 (refurb if I'm not mistaken). I've looked all over to find the measurements on that particular product. If you know of a link please post it or you can PM, thanks in advance!

There is none, but Matthew, who said he measured one, thatthe results were similar to the 7705 and he never published the results. That makes sense because there is no reason for the 7706 to do any better than the 7705.
 
It's pretty good for an AVP/AVR class, actually the best one :D Full review and specs on Page 1 of this thread.

 
How is the dac on the av10? Is it on par with a Denefrips r2r?
For sure, based on ASR measurements. R2R or not most DACs are transparent anyway, in terms of SQ.
 
Question: Can the Marantz AV10 use Audyssey of DIRAC to calibrate all 4subwoofers as one!
ARC Genesis is unable to perform this function and only calibrate each sub one at a time! Very frustrating and disappointing experience especially since it costs so much money!

Audyssey will time align them (the 4) and then calibrate as one. AV10 and AVM90 costs about the same money based on list price, but AV10 will cost more if you purchase the DLBC license and the mic.

So this should be better bass management than ARC Genesis then!

Not really, in theory ARC G is better as it is more comparable to Dirac Live's bass management. Audyssey does not do phase optimization, only time alignment that could come close imo in terms of the end results, but not the same or as good unless one spends tons of time tweaking post calibration. My take on ARC G is, while it has phase optimization, it is not very effective in the current version, though I am hopeful that Anthem will improve on its effectiveness in future updates. The main advantages of Audyssey and Dirac, also imo, is that with the apps, they are much more tweakable. ARC G is quite tweakable too obviously, but they impose too much restrictions on what one can tweak/adjust. Anthem fans will likely disagree with me completely, based on AVSF posts by their loyal fans. I like my Anthem AVM70 a lot, but am not a loyal fan, yet..so I can get very critical of the way things work, based on my experience, when comparing it to my previous D+M's.

The Amp10 has stood the test of this last year as probably the best processor bar ultra specialized devices like Storm or Trinov. The advantage, price aside, is that it covers all the bases quite well including extras such as a very solid phono stage. The "weak" link seems to be the headphone amp and that´s my question: how much extra cost would incur including a better headphone amp?

Sure, I understand that even if it´s a not so good headphone amp, for a device of this kind it´s splitting hairs, but considering that people like Amir or Gene will be taking the processor to the bench, why not building it in a way that you cannot even have it as a "well, could be better". That said, it seems that with a planar headphone, the user would probably not notice a degradation at all.
