It's sort of interesting that I missed this. Under Ken Ishiwata, the Marantz Reference line was running HypeX amplification. They paired SMPS600 with the NC500x2 on the PM-10 and then a SMPS600 with a plain NC500 for the PM-KI Ruby, PM-12, and Model 30n.

The new AMP 10 was rumored to be "based upon the PM-10" technology before launch, and then the marketing talk was "in-house Class D design" but this slide from earlier this month actually shows ICEPower modules.

It certainly looks like it is based on the ICEPower 400A2 module.

I guess they really are going head to head with Trinnov.

I am a lot less excited about this amp now…

95 dB sinad isn’t bad for 16 channels in one box with a lot of peak power on reserve. (200 into 8 and 400 into 4). The Monoprice 8125X is 95 dB SINAD as well, 1/3rd the price, 1/2 the channels and half the watts (though Monoprice is 8 channels driven not 5),

It would be interesting to get a full set of measurements on this. We know ICE amps have higher distortion than HypeX/Purifi, so it might actually be really good if it can do 1 and 2W with low noise.
