I'll never forget a story from someone who worked the conveyor belts at UPS back in the 80's, the early frontier.
Even though the maximum package weight at the time was 70 lb., there was one smaller box which required two men to lift - obviously well beyond the 70 lb. limit, quite possibly double the limit. Not supposed to be allowed on the belt for any reason.
As soon as the two men dropped the box on the belt, it exploded to reveal what was inside. A million ball bearings. They go in all directions.
The ball bearings became trapped in the belt system and shut it down for hours until workers could fish them all out.
