Sorry, did not have time to listen to it.

I ran the measurements and my critiques by the company. To my pleasant surprise, they still wanted the data to be published as to get feedback from membership!
That ASR reviewed it poorly establishes its bona fides as a true high end product in the circles Fosi wants to sell this HPA in. That Amir did not even listen to it is icing on the cake.

Hallo Folks.

It seems that chinese companies are becoming a part of the problem, for which they offered a solution.

This is an over-priced and over-fashionised product that is also under-performing and under-featured. An „audiophile“ product in the worst sense of the term.

Stay away from this atrocity and get yourself (for the same money) a better sounding, less ridiculous looking amp made in the west.

Cheers.:)

i find it hard to put into words what i feel when i see this

it elicits a 'disgust' response? its just designed in a way that offends my sensibilities

my other half would ask me what what going thru my head to pay any money for this

the overwrought flying wing Bentley Aston Martin Chrysler logo?

i cant imagine anyone who has any taste would want this in their home no matter how well it performs

and on that - SURELY we are at a point where a headphone amp is like settled science for a few hundred?

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. Fosi have a great record of responding to community feedback so I'm sure it will iterate, as it will need to with such limited features given common HP use cases.

yeah like i have no problems with fosi's standard ZA3 series with the orange knob and the like... its a cute slightly 'arch' aesthetic which differs from the dark black boxes everyone else is making but this line makes me think they are aping dCS and that kind of thing.

Possibly aiming for the D'Agostino chrome/bling aesthetic.
(Always preferred the black, no-nonsense industrial Krell look myself anyway. If we're talking high-end.)

Nice to see a new brand (albeit related to a familiar one) up for review.

Looks fancy, measures ok but it's just underwhelming at that price level. I'm sure it will sound good but it's Meh.

I was interested in a comment @amirm
"I ran the measurements and my critiques by the company. To my pleasant surprise, they still wanted the data to be published as to get feedback from membership"

a) that's laudible from the company, great attitude.
b) how often do companies ask for results to be witheld?

Thanks for another review, this is such a great site.

Objectively speaking the performance is somewhere between not terrible and fine. But for the price I'd expect better performance and much higher power output.

Your beloved most superficial user here (me) belongs to the black camp so it will be a little unfair to judge this.
However, mirror finish is not the best choice for an HP amp unless someone wear gloves all the time

Logo is also intimidating, preconditions for some short of militia (air) unit and not audio.
The long tradition of Latin and Greek names is there though :facepalm:²

I think fosi is out of its league here, components and built quality is not enough,if they want to enter higher price tags and get some "proud of ownership" crowd they need dealer network to push and persuade and probably different country of origin. That's the hard truth.

Thanks Amir!

Not great. Overall, we should be thankful about companies like Topping and SMSL that brought us for a few hundreds what was achievable until then for many thousands of Dollars. It shows the widespread benefit of competition. This HPA should have stellar performance for the price, and, alas, it does not. Did they hire perhaps a consultant from Chord or some other audiophile company?

^^Agree

One comment though, if performance was SOTA then some of these concerns would be mitigated. There's a perverse attraction in owning something different as long as it is really good.

I have always liked a silver mirrored finish, my butler operates all the audio equipment but it doesn’t need that badge.
