Making further progress, TOPPING’s new flagship amplifier will be launched in late May!

Use Decibel X app if possible,it lets you toggle between max and peaks.

(enjoying the music is better when you have it's full extend at hand, just saying)
That’s the app that I’m already using but last time I said I was using a phone app/mic I got a full keyboard load some someone because it’s not accurate enough for them.

It doesn't need to be accurate for others,if it's for you is enough.
And taking time to learn all it's settings will profit it you in time. You will be able to roughly diagnose problems, etc.

A-weighted average. Peaks 80-90dB.
For your speakers (LS50 Meta, 85 dB/W sensitivity, 8 Ohms of impedance), and a 3 meter from your soeakers, you need about 15 W to get 90 dB peak, assuming no room sound reflexión and a Z or, at least, C weighting for your sound meter reading

Was it EddNog who alerted us to the issue with that other new little amplifier? Perhaps EddNog should be promoted from Constable to Detective.

A nothingburger for B100, if the specs are to be believed.

Around here my title is just Clown.

They’ve arrived! Got them hooked up and playing but too busy to get time to properly blend my subwoofer in yet. Included comparison pics with ZA3. The quality seems to be another level with some components like the speaker binding posts being WAY nicer. Interesting to see the power supplies connect to the amplifier with aircraft connectors, a change coming from all my experiences with amps from Douk and Fosi.

Please excuse the doorstops—I need them to keep the amps from sliding around due to tension from the cables (I’m not some kook who thinks they somehow have an effect on the sound).

how does the 12v trigger works for b100? Need a Y-splitter from the source?
Edit: Okay, y splitter works. If my pa5ii dies, will get a pair of b100 for sure.

That would be necessary, yes.

So I had an opportunity to play with gain settings on the B100s and then (re-)blend my subwoofer with them. I found that the Low setting on XLR input, which is +0dB, or unity gain, was not quite loud enough on some tracks when I use Passive mode on my preamp (Schiit Freya+) despite the balanced output of my streamer being rated 4Vrms. I switched it to the Medium setting, which is rated +10.4dB gain, and now I can get it loud enough even on my quietest tracks (examples include Carmen Fantasy (After Bizet) by All-Star Percussion Ensemble and Jazz at the Pawn Shop) on Passive mode. Again this is with medium sensitivity speakers (KEF LS50 Meta) plus SVS SB-3000 subwoofer.

So far, as far as I can tell, the amplifier is as clean as Topping’s ratings indicate, even at higher (for me) volumes of ~70dB about 10 feet away. I am thoroughly satisfied with these, and plan to keep these in my chain over my Fosi amps (which I keep the pair of ZA3s as backups just in case anything should ever fail on these B100s). In full fairness, if properly level-matched and ABX compared between these and the other amps, I’d probably have an exceedingly difficult time consistently picking out which amp is driving, which makes sense given the high performance for all of them.

Thank you for your initial assessment and the tip with the special version of the Carmen fantasy! Now it's time for @amirm to take a look at the devices. Topping has probably already sent him test devices and they are in the queue...

In case anyone is somehow considering these versus the venerable Fosi options (given the price difference, probably not many), do note that I am finding that the B100 runs significantly less hot than V3 Mono, and even cooler than ZA3 (which already runs noticeably cooler to the touch than V3 Mono).

Do you have a smart plug or similar to measure idle power consumption on these?

No, unfortunately I gave away my Power Angels a long time ago (I used to use those for checking total power consumption of devices over 20 years ago when I used to write/review for SilentPCReview).

Can you hear the difference though? Please say yes :)

you listen to music at 55dB SPL? Isn't 60dB a quiet conversation?
