hi, everyone, sorry for my poor English

If you can't understand my word, please see the picture, I think this is very easy

my tone board is vim edition, if yours is generic edition, your case should be less high, because 40 pinheader is not on board

first you should buy more different lenght standoffs

because this case was not designed for tone board, you must cut off one side of khadas diy case, otherwise the rca and usb port can't come out

at last install tone board into this case

I'd call this more of a frame than a case, but an interesting take on enclosing the tone board.

I am making a 3d printable part, it can be used with this diy case.

after that, it maybe become a case.

So you can use the tone board only as a dac? It just needs a case. What other cases are out there. I'm considering this for my first semi diy and have no idea what to look into.

I did mostly the same with the AUD 8.00 case for the VIM. This will be temporary though; I am still looking for a permanent solution. I don’t want to pay shipping for the BEX aluminum case from America to Perth, too expensive. I am still looking for a locally sourced solution.

Yes, you can use the Khadas tone board (generic edition or Vim edition) alone as USB DAC
attached to a computer: VIM or other single board computer, pc, etc...

I've just bought mine keeping in mind attach it, with a case,... to my pc,
but perhaps to a single board (Vim2 as next purchase, or my actual Asus Tinker Board -S)
as I2S DAC without needs about solder extra parts.

@Mistic @ILovePhonon

3D model of MiddlePart is almost done, this diy part cooperates with khadas case(top plate and bottom plate)

its size is for vims edition.
if your tone board is generic edition, you can use it, but it is little bigger

I must print one to check if somethin is wrong

I have not a 3d printer, but I find a company, it can print it for me.
two or three days later maybe I can tell you result

3D printable case is done.

but made a little mistake, I have to correct it, and print a new one

When I get the new one, I want to paint it red or golden, but i don't know which color is more beautiful

How do you take the standoffs out of the DIY case to remove the middle portion? These screws seem hard to get out.
