Yes. Because the maggies are about half as loud at the same volume dial setting due to their low sensitivity. You have to lower the sub volume to blend it correctly.
I think the point was that the sub dial needs to be much lower with the maggie, to match its lower sensitivity. If you are keeping the sub dial on the same setting, of course the less sensitive speaker will sound like it has more (relative) bass.
