From what I recall, they don't say this is a compression driver. So I assume it has its own chamber with a traditional tweeter and waveguide. Otherwise, I agree it could have caused some problems.
so the first attempt at a subwoofer waveguide not working out?

Presumably the reason this speaker exists is that it delivers impressive SPL and good margins for installers. The bass is going to be handled by subs, but there’s not much excuse for the mess at the crossover or the narrow directivity.

In an ideal speaker, distortion would remain constant and all the lines would be on top of each other.
in an ideal speaker, distortion is zero. In the real world, it’s non zero of course. But but non zero relative distortion being independent of the level is not a good sign. it is an indicator of zeros crossing distortion or hysteresis effects (nonlinearity with memory)

I do love the looks of this speaker.

There may be people who like the look. For me, however, this type of design of the baffle around the woofer has almost only disadvantages from an acoustic point of view, which in my opinion can also be seen in @amirm 's measurements. I have already developed one or two loudspeakers with horn tweeters and know that you can achieve phase coherence in other ways, even passively (although it is a little tricky).

Haven't read all the comments yet but 3 words from me: expensive, large & subpar! I felt it was an old speaker, but then googled it and it's still on their website, so I don't know when this one was designed & 1st produced.

In my opinion, you don't need to know every detail about driver technologies to make valid measurements of loudspeakers.
Yea... You just need Klippel's and follow the instructions of the user's guide...

It is meant for a baffle wall installation, so isn’t that a good thing?

You'd love brutalist architecture.
:D

These are the M15's

Their active speakers cost too much, $15K each!!!

What a shame, I had high hopes for Mag cause their subwoofers seemed so impressive and esp their flagship model. Id love to continue to see more pro theater gear get reviewed. Esp from brands like Grimani, Alcons, Ascendo, Wisdom, Theory, etc.

PA stuff... SPL rules ... Maybe lacking a Guarnieri Homage touch... But every dB counts, so why bother flattening that horn boosted response... Same with that short front horn to get a few more dBs on the low mids... Just bruteforce tricks but if It helps to make It sound louder...

I don't mind the bad performance, as this is expected for 90 % of speakers. Though an SPL with disortion performance already crashing at 106 dB? Come on, that's weak. More so, I am pissed because of the "50-20000 @ +-3dB" statement, which is clearly a LIE that warrants legal action.

It's kinda sad that the longer ASR and Erin are around the clearer it becomes that there is only a tiny fraction of speaker manufacturers that are 100 % trustworthy and offer actual performance for the money.
