Made an oops? Ordered 48V instead of 32V

Just ordered a Douk A5 but mistakenly chose the 48V/5A option on Ali.

Im guessing cancelling an Ali order would be an ordeal (cancelling is easy...getting the $$ back, who knows)

What PSU is recommended to replace the 48V? Im going by the assumption that 48V is just going to cause unnecessary heat and shortened amp life.

Thanks!

I think they are TPA3255 based? I used 48v 5a on the FOSI V3, no issues at all. I checked the review and the A5 is indeed rated to 48v.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I think amperage is more detrimental to electrical components than voltage to a point. It’s rated for the 48 volt supply so all should be good.

The amp is rated to operate on a 48V power supply. Higher voltages do not result in additional heat load. Regardless of the power supply's voltage, the unit will be dissipating the same amount of power and therefore generating the same amount of heat. The 48V power supply may be capable of supplying more power, but your average power load will almost certainly be the same regardless.

TL;DR version: there's no need to cancel your order. The 48V power supply will work just fine and not cause any problems.

The amplifier will only "pull" the amperage it needs. It will consume more current at full output than with silence, etc.

Your car battery is capable of hundreds of amps but your car stereo typically only uses a few amps.

With nothing plugged-into your wall outlet the voltage is present but no current flows. A toaster or hair dryer takes more current than a regular light bulb and if you run a toaster & hair drier at the same time from the same circuit, you'll get excess current, the circuit breaker will blow and voltage will drop to zero.

If the order is still in "to ship" status, you can cancel the order and you will get reimbursed without issues.
If it is already marked as shipped, even if physically it is still at the shop, you can't do anything until you receive it. And then, depending on the seller and the way you bought it, things may get complicated.

Thanks everyone! Will leave the order alone. I figure worst case I can always get a 32V down the road, was just surprised at how expensive they are (relative to the amp). Wouldnt be surprised if a sale makes it worth buying a new amp with 32V PSU instead.

Thanks again.

I run my A5 with a Meanwell 48V 6.3Amp power supply. It gets warm to the touch but not bad. Runs much cooler than my Fosi Audio BT20A PRO at 48V.

Yeah I was shocked at the cost of the power supplies too. where I live i paid 70€ for an 48v 10a power supply.
