MAC OSX Sequoia + Rogue Amoeba SoundSource Issues

You mean to restart the machine periodically? That's a temporary fix, not a real solution.

As a dev this looks like Rogue Amoeba need to fix a memory leak in ARK.
I use this to try to fix mysterious problems with my Mac.

arkaudiod is using 119MB on Seqouia 15.6, M2 Mac for me.

30.8MB for me and I haven't rebooted in weeks. I'm also doing all my DSP via Hang Loose Convolver and Blackhole 2ch virtual sound card for the main system in my sig, if all the routing I was doing was analog it would be a intense rat's nest.

I had a base M1 with 8GB of RAM which could not keep up with all the buffers and still do regular computer stuff. Since I got the M2 with 24GB I've not experienced any audio issues even when running other CPU/RAM intensive stuff.

Roon definitely has a memory leak though and they've known about it for years. It can creep up to Gigabytes of memory use.

Anyone ever run into this problem where the "Enable" button does literally nothing after installing the ARK plugin? No idea on how to fix this. If the permission were needed by an app and not a Plug In, I could fix it manually. Here, I'm completely lost on ideas.

FIXED: Had to re-enable SIP. Boot into Recovery (hold Power Button *after* shutting down, untily uo see two options, choose the Options one) then run csrutil enable without the quotes. After that, booting back into macOS, apps ask for permissions to be granted again, but moreover SoundSource works.

For these past weeks I've been in contact with Rogue Amoeba and the memory issue has been finally fixed!

After a couple of dev beta versions the one that solved it is 5.8.6 (not sure if it's already publicly available).

That should not have been necessary with a properly signed package but glad you got it working.
