Still working here. A couple of times I had problems I disconnected it from the mains, and afterwards was ok (the power button just puts it in sleep mode). Did you try this?

I’m having a issue with some podcasts and Spotify connect not able to play. I’ve read some topics on the Spotify community and it might be the mixed-audio thing. Yamaha had the same issue for wxa-50 or something, and was fixed with a new firmware.

It's a bit more complicated: Google Cast does support Spotify Connect, but the tdai 1120 also supports Spotify Connect natively. And because of this you can pick both ways: when you select the device in the Spotify app, the 1120 is listed only once, but if you press the '...' next to its name, you can choose whether to use Spotify Connect of Google Cast.
Normally you would want to use Spotify Connect, as it's 320kps whereas Google Cast is only 256kbps.

Hi, so they did confirm the issue with native tdai-1120 native support of Spotify Connect, but what did they tell about correcting this issue ?

They’re investigating if it’s the content/podcast itself or the Spotify connect native app. I do believe it’s the native app since other manufacturers like Yamaha had the same issue, but was fixed with a firmware update. From reading other comments on the Spotify community it might be the mixed media issue.

I've never had the budget to consider a quality HiFi system before now and in the last year, I decided I should finally ditch the soundbar from my family room TV and upgrade to a quality stereo system that can double as the sound for my TV. The daily base case will be TV watching by the family, so it needs to excel at this, and when I want to play music, I want it to excel at this as well. The system will be paired with Paradigm Prestige 75F speakers. I tried the Bluesound Powernoid 2i with HDMI and to my untrained ears, it sounded great, but when I had the shop plug it into a TV, there was a terrible delay/ lip sync issue with the audio. This was due to the settings, but after digging into it, it seems like at the best, that system will cause a 50 ms delay in audio when hooked to HDMI. When searching around for alternatives, I landed on the Lyngdorf 1120 vs NAD M10. This thread and other things I have read has made me prioritize the Lyngdorf as the one I should try first, so that is my plan.
1) For anyone with an 1120 that use it for TV, can you confirm there is no audio lag? I will be connecting it to a Samsung NU8000 (2018) that just has a standard ARC port, but from what I can tell, the 1120 should be excellent at this.
2) What is the best way to stream music to the 1120? I do not own a CD collection or vinyl and never plan to and will always prefer digital due to the lack of having to own a physical object and simplicity (not knocking anyone who likes CD or vinyl, it's just not for me). I can't imagine I will be able to tell a head to head difference between a Spotify stream vs Amazon HD vs Tidal, but that doesn't mean I can't learn once I have gear that can actually play the differences in the sound. My impression is that if I need to cast amazon HD or Tidal to the 1120 with Airplay2 (I'm an apple device house) or chromecast, that that stream will be compressed through the casting process (I think this is true with Airplay2 in a similar fashion as a bluetooth stream, but not sure about chromecast, maybe not?) and therefore I will not be taking advantage of the higher quality stream once it gets to the 1120. Therefore, I should go with Spotify. I own a Tesla, so having a spotify membership only benefits me in that that is one of the only streaming services that currently has an option in a Tesla to play directly through the Tesla OS vs having to use your phone, then bluetooth the signal to the Tesla.
3) Does anyone know if Lyngdorf plans to make a direct app for Tidal or Amazon HD to play on their devices? From the online FAQs, it seems like you have 3 options for Tidal on a Lyngdorf: "Tidal streaming can be done by 1) Airplay 2) UPNP using, for example, the “mconnect” app, and 3) Roon, which supports Tidal integration in the Roon software." 1. I don’t use arc, but I believe you can adjust audio lag on your tv. There are some members here that use arc so they can confirm audio lag or not. I use optical.
2. It’s hard to tell what’s best, because it’s about preferences too. However I use Spotify connect because it so simple and easy to use. And the best part is that you don’t need the device you are streaming from powered on the whole time. If you’re streaming with Bluetooth your phone must stay connected the whole time. Tidal works the same way as Spotify connect but use the built in chromecast instead. That’s why Lyngdorf is not adding tidal connect (for now).

Does the optical hookup allow for you to just turn on your TV and you can control your audio of the 1120 with the TV and it powers on the amp etc or are you using a universal remote setup to bypass the CEC control of your 1120 (my impression is to enable your TV to control the volume, power on of the amp etc you need HDMI and CEC commands). I have a harmony elite, but I'm the only one that uses it (I have a 3 and 6 year old that abuse our Samsung remote, so I don't allow them to touch the Harmony), so using optical and the universal remote would be an option, but using the HDMI and CEC commands would be ideal (mostly because of everyone else in the house).
I guess this brings up the other question of whether the 1120 can be controlled with a Harmony elite, I'm assuming yes, but haven't dug into it.
My dumb TV does allow adjustment of audio lag, but only by further delaying it! I've never had a situation where my audio is ahead of my picture, requiring me to delay the audio, so I'm not sure what the point of only allowing further delay is (maybe because it's easy to do and gives consumers the false sense of security that we can always deal with lip sync issues), but this is why I'm concerned about lag because my TV only allows me to further delay audio, not delay the video or make the audio go in the negative time direction. Apparently brand new TVs with eARC are starting to include this sort of functionality, but my wife will kill me if after 2 years I propose buying a new 75" TV because of audio lag. It was struggle enough to get her on board with the 75" TV in the first place...

No lag for me with optical.
Without eARC you are not able to control the tdai-1120 with your tv remote. But one solution is to use optical for audio and eARC for communication with the tdai-1120, if there’s any lag with eARC.
I use my harmony to control everything, and I asked them to add the tdai-1120. You just need the latest firmware to use all of the controls. Works really good.

I'm guessing this is a loaded question, but what do people suggest for surge protection or "power conditioning" for an 1120?
I see the rational for surge protection and shutting down with voltage spikes (high or low), but that's about where I stop with my concerns. I haven't read anything that rationalizes that it matters if your power can play a radio station (it's neat to filter that out, but I'm pretty sure any length of copper will, including your speaker wire, everything is an antenna to a degree and I use to just jam any wire I had into my TV to get TV signals in my can't afford a nice meal days), so I'm less convinced "noise" is an issue.

I just about purchased the 1120 for our living room. Ended up going with the M10 and it has been really good for this room/setup. If anyone is so inclined, please do send on in to Amir for review. Looks like a great device.Awesome! Good to know I have options if there is lag through HDMI

I think my plan is to first try the Lyngdorf 1120 and if for some reason I don't like it, then I need to decide if I try the NAD M10 next or the Arcam SA30.
