Is there an advantage to Lyngdorf's implementation over a DIY offering from the likes of Audiophonics? I've been having an internal debate with myself as to which route to go that I can't settle.
On the one hand, a DIY implementation means if anything goes wrong it's a simple thing for me to just replace the defective component. On the other, the MXA-8400 is a sleeker unit with a bespoke power supply.
Is there anything to Lyngdorf / Purifi's engineering over the off the shelf Hypex solution, or is it all marketing hyperbole?
