Lyngdorf 3400 as a preamp for Technics su-g700 mk1

I have decided to change the side and move to something that has room correction built in. On the other hand, I already have Technics SU-G700 and really like what I hear when LAPC is turned on.

So now I have an idea to connect sl-1200g turntable and iPad to TDAI-3400 and send the digital out using coax to digital in of SU-G700.

I would first run LAPC on Technics and then Room Perfect on 3400 and hopefully get the best of both worlds.

What are your thoughts on this? Any flaws in my idea?

Sounds like a bad use of money.

I won't argue the turntable obviously, but beyond that I'm sure you'd be better served with a Parks Waxwing and a miniDSP Flex Digital or something.

Paying like €6-7k for the Lyngdorf just for RoomPerfect is plain stupid.

I agree that’s way too much to spend on a Lyngdorf if all you’re going to use is RoomPerfect. However, from all I can glean about RP, it is one of the better DSP solutions, and I think that RP without the Technics would be a significant uplift over what Technics is doing. If you really want RP, sell the Technics, and go for a TDAI 2210.

Spending that much effort/time on vinyl sounds wack to me (and I still have my vinyl collection and an SL1200mk2 for a long time)

Well, nobody said it would be money spent wisely. Dirac Live in mini DSP might be a good option, though. Thank you for the advice.

Yes, that’s an option too. Technics LAPC really works well, but doesn’t correct the room modes, hence the idea to combine the two, Room Perfect and LAPC.
I did look at 2210, but it seems it cannot output digital
out to external DAC like 3400 can. If I went with a single amplifier then 2210 would indeed be a valid choice.

The new TDAI-2210 does actually have a digital output (like the old TDAI-2170), but the little brother 1120 does not have one

Unfortunately I cannot find a statement it would allow for connecting it to external DAC together with the Room Perfect applied. Hopefully someone will get hands on it soon.

It is written i the manual p age 22-23:
You set up the device as in Preamp mode:
"Preamp is for using the TDAI-2210 as a pre-amplifier, music streamer, or RoomPerfect processor.
Note: The power amp section (speaker outputs) will be disabled when using the TDAI-2210 in Preamp mode.
You can set the analog output and the digital output individually to match your system as follows:
  • Output Off Output is not used. No signal at the output.
  • Full Range Provides the complete frequency signal with volume regulation, tone controls, Voicings, RoomPerfect calibration
  • Low Pass Provides only lower frequencies with volume regulation, tone controls, Voicings, RoomPerfect calibration
  • High Pass Provides only higher frequencies with volume regulation, tone controls, Voicings, RoomPerfect calibrated
  • Tape Out / Line Out Provides the complete frequency signal with no volume regulation (full signal level), no tone controls, no Voicings, no RoomPerfect calibration
  • Headphone Amplifier Provides the complete frequency signal with no volume regulation (full signal level), tone controls, Voicings, no RoomPerfect calibration
The Lyngdorf amps are very flexible and IMHO amazing amps (I own a TDAI-2170)

Thank you. This is almost perfect. The issue seems to be one cannot disable volume control while using Room Perfect. That means I would have two places for amplification, one at 2210 and the other at Technics amplifier.
If I could lock it at 2210 that would be perfect.
