Loved my 1120 when I had it ..

 
Wish they’d do a preamp. Digital or analog, don’t care. But a simple 2.2 preamp with AirPlay, RoomPerfect, and loudness compensation would be a great product.
Apparently there's an analog module available for this thing, which would presumably render it a full streaming integrated amplifier. Or one might also call it an internet receiver.

Issue is outputs, not inputs. Basically my ideal Lyngdorf product would be a TDAI-1120 but with 4 line level (or 2 line level and 2 digital, or 4 digital) outputs. More amp power isn’t that exciting, and still limits to passive speakers with no DSP augmentation.

Yep, like an updated DPA-1 (which I still have) with streaming etc
 
What kind of class-D module is inside of this new streaming amp? Does it work like the Marantz Model M1 amp? (completely digital without analog conversion)
I love the USB-c connection for PC. :cool:

 
I could be wrong, but I think there is no class-D module inside the 2210.

Well it sure does not like like a class A or A/B amp inside. It is a full digital amplifier it seems.
To bad it is missing a subwoofer connection with a crossover for 4000€.

It has one analog output (XLR/RCA) you can use for a subwoofer. I expect you can set the crossover within the user interface.

It has two analog outputs for use with subwoofers, either RCA or XLR. Various different crossovers can be set up. It's very similar in that respect to their flagship TDAi 3400.

Amp is totally digital, again like the 3400, but with slightly less power.
 
I wondered if anyone had a chance to listen to it?
My current system is Technics sl-1200g and iPad (USB) connected to su-g700 mk1 which runs JBL l100 classic mk2.

I am actually quite happy with the setup, but do have few room modes I would like to get rid off and Room Perfect seems like a great option for it.

Alternatively, I a was looking at NAD M66. This would allow me to run Dirac for room correction as well as LAPC in su-g700 so maybe best of both worlds, but have read Dirac is much more finicky to get good results than Room Perfect.
 
I have the old Lyngdorf DPA-1 preamp and an amp with DIRAC. Both are similarly good to deal with room modes, but the additional phase (?) correction of DIRAC ends with a better sounding result, to me. RoomPerfect is standalone though and will work long after a connection to the DIRAC servers are lost.

Thanks. Dirac servers are only needed for the setup, but once applied I don’t really need them, or I misunderstood that?

I wish any of the two had a coax digital out so I only use it for room correction and pass the signal to Technics’ DAC.

Old thread, but rather than start a new one, I was curious about the Lyngdorf TDAI-2210.
It's not really in my price bracket, but it does seem to be liked.
I'm not attempting to diss it, but I'm curious about it is being described as "fully digital" - can someone explain what this is?

Secondly, it has a colour touch screen - does it display file tags and album art, like all the Chinese brands do (if they have colour screens)

Lastly, is there any 'special sauce' in their room correction, compared with other systems? I don't use correction or even EQ on my rig, so I don't know much about it, but it's very popular on ASR.... For the Lyngdorf, if your room has peaks and nulls in the bass response within the room, the unit claims to alter amplitude and phase selectively, but how does this work excactly? I mean, I'm not following how nulls or maximums are removed without 'notching out' all sound at the problem frequencies, so if your room has a problem with a low E on a bass, how does it get fixed without filtering out low E altogether?

There is no such thing as a ‘fully digital’ amplifier.

The confusion comes because of the way inputs to class D amplifiers work. Class D amps fundamentally work on a Pulse Width modulated signal whereas most other topologies work directly on signal amplitude.

Normally you feed in Pulse Code Modulated data in to a DAC and get a conventional signal with the audio encoded via frequency and amplitude out which then needs to be converted to PWM for a class D amp.

The PWM output of the class D amp is then converted to a suitable form for driving the speakers using a low pass filter.

What gets termed ‘fully digital’ even though it isn’t is when those redundant steps are omitted so the PCM is converted directly to the PWM signal needed to feed in to the amp.

As far as I’m aware Lyngdorf pioneered this kind of approach of removing the redundant stages.

I have a Lyngdorf MP40 and room perfect is excellent. It cant fix nulls very well, that does require you to move stuff around, but overall it does manage peaks well and gives a very nice overall sound. Which most people tend to agree about.
They are not that forthcoming about what it does under the covers, but it has been around about 20 years so.

Thanks, but I know precisely how class D works, my question was really about why to Lyngdorf use the the term "all-digital". So for example, are they using non-standard DACs or DSPs or what? Is it just their marketing department just being coy?

But aren't peaks just the inevitable consequence of standing waves, given room reflections, just as much as are the nulls (two sides of the same coin, as it were). You're right - they don't seem to explain all this, so it's hard (for me) to understand what's happening beyond deploying high Q or notch filters for troublesome frequencies. Maybe it's really smart, I dunno....

Luckily, it's more than I would want to spend (and I have no big room issues), but it's interesting "to see how the other half live" with the room correction, which is such a big ASR topic!

This is a screen capture of my Subwoofers, 2 x svs sb1000 pro. Pink is before room perfect, Blue is after. I was quite impressed My crossover is set at 95hz
