Will a room correction of the sort be possible in the future? or is that more of a x10 type feature if it eventuates.

We have no plan to add in room correction feature.

But, FIR measurement input feature is in our plan.

Hi Guys,
I am very close ( about 2 weeks to go) to buy a Luxsin X9. And I think it's an exciting match with my personal needs for HP-Audio and 2+2 with my speaker system.
There is finally one question I could no find an answer for (perhaps it is on me ?) .
Q: Is it possible to release a USB firmware update (e.g., for the XMOS chip) that allows the X9 to be recognised as a 4-channel USB audio endpoint.
Which means a upstream Room correction could be used with the unit (i.e. Jriver/Audirvana/HLC with Audiolense/REW filters).
Given that a built-in Room Correction is not planned, providing a "Multichannel USB Passthrough" would be the smartest and most flexible solution to satisfy the users' needs without requiring you to develop complex RC software by yourselves. ???
Cheers, respect, and thank you for your exciting work

I really like the looks of the x9. Do you guys think i could hear difference in sound if a buy this DAC/AMP vs my SMSL DO400? (My headphone is the DCA Noire X)

If you do it's because of the additional features like the preset EQ profiles, crossfeed, etc.

The USB driver used by Luxsin is the same as the one used by Eversolo.

I have a few questions about the X9 and X8.
If I’m using them purely with headphones connected via USB as the source, what are the differences between the two devices?
As I’ll be driving a HiFiMan HE6SE v2, is the amplifier section up to the job?
Thanks for your replies

I've a X9 and got yesterday a x8, but no time for testing it yet.
From the datasheet the x8 has more power than the x9, but the other differences are in the DAC and the volume control (x9 analogue and x8 digital).
I'm using the X9 only rarely with cans like the HD800 and Hifiman HE1000v2. Both are driven without problems, but if you will use the internal EQ, it's good to have a lot of headroom.
If you don't have problems in using a digital volume control, I would take for the HE6 the cheaper X8.

Anyway, for the HE6SE v2 – and for HE6s in general – I think you’d need 15–16 Vrms at 50–60 ohms...
We would appreciate some clarification from the kind and helpful Luxsin user

I've been hunting for a dac/amp to replace my aging smsl su8 v2 + THX 789 setup as one of the channels for the xlr out is dying in the thx.

Main headphones are HD800s, ZMF Verite open, and Arya Stealth. May add a Noire X at some point as well.

Seems like the x9 checks all the boxes and measures well and I really like the idea of the eq profiles. But now I'm reading a x10 is coming that'll improve on it and also some seem to think the x8 is a better unit than the x9.

What do? The single end on my amp does still work so I'm in no rush if it'll be better to wait

The X10 isn't released yet and no concrete informations are a available (ok, it will not be cheaper than the X9).
Using a X8 and a X9 I can say, that both are serious headphone, pre-amp with a good DAC implementation. For me it's hard to hear here any difference.
The biggest difference for me is: The X9 comes with a remote, the (normal) X9 without...

Would it be possible to add a feature to limit peak volume level?

Seeing as the XLR output is 4.2V and external power amps could reach full output at 1V.
limiting volume level at -5/-10/-15/-20dB could avoid accidents.

Personally, I would go for the Topping DX5 II, which at less than $400 is likely to really hurt the competition.
I have both this is way better than the DX5 ll,blows it out of the water, why buy a
Problem.

Didn't luxsin already say they would introduce a new series next and NOT the X10? I'm still salty and mad the luxsin x8 doesn't even have a sub out with bass management and I will always be mad about that. I'm even more sad cuz IDK what they mean about a new series, like not a dac or preamp? So now I gotta wait even LONGER for something that fits my needs that not a thousand dollars and semi compact form factor. We are finally heading in the direction of other companies implementing proper bass management functions and those are legitimate SELLING POINTS TO PEOPLE. Guess I'll wait even longer for an all in one device with 2.1 capabilities

Just relooked at fosi audio community forums. I've been keeping my eye on their new Q8 dac WITH sub out and high pass filters and also they are working on a new Bluetooth amp that ALSO includes sub out and high pass filters for 2.1 systems. Ampapa or whatever douk audio also has their own 2.1 dac/amp. I might get fosi's new DAC but the only thing that turns me off is it's only a DAC which is fair game but I'm looking for an all in one. Hence why I'm still mad about luxsin x8. The x8 is supposed to be an ALL IN ONE and especially since it's a pre amp which is the best time to do the high pass filtering before amplifying. X8 with all its dac chips and they couldn't have one for a dedicated sub out .

I’m still a bit confused about the performance of the X9’s headphone amplifier…
Amir measured 1.9 watts as the maximum output into 33 ohms in balanced mode, i.e. at 8V; the spec sheet states 3 watts, 10 v into 33 ohms in the same configuration…
So either the sample given to Amir was a pre-production unit with some limitations, or the data reported by Luxsin is inaccurate.....Are they perhaps measured at different SINAD/THD+N levels?
I’m asking this primarily of user Luxsin to see if they can clarify this point once and for all

thanks
