Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something as all of the reviews focus on the headphone aspect of it.

Nothing wrong with this at all. In fact, it works great this way, especially if you own two subwoofers, thanks to the stereo subwoofer output feature and decent bass management controls.
I would like to see more gear with 2 (or more) independent sub out's. The lack of 2 channel sub control (my "passive" subs each have a dedicated external amp) is THE reason why I did not buy a Schiit Syn quad thingy to play with.

(Replying to myself here): Or alternatively a high quality (SINAD 90-95 or so) independent crossover, phase etc. box that I could send my pre out to so that I could divide it up to my sub amps & my main amps. I do it that way now but don't have phase or crossover slope control.

miniDSP Flex sounds like your best bet.

miniDSP Flex sounds like your best bet.
I have given that a cursory look & thought that it had potential to do what I want but I was waylaid with some surgeries that were suddenly needed by me.
I am on the plus side of things again but had completely forgotten about the miniDSP FLEX.
Thank you for reminding me of it.
After the 6th of Jan (when I have another MRI scheduled), I should have time to do a deep dive into it.

MiniDSP Flex appears to be the most suitable option for your needs but…
To integrate the MiniDSP Flex, you will require the regular Flex with AD-DA conversion (analog-digital-digital-analog).
I own the Flex digital unit and have configured it with delay, gain, DSP, and crossover settings before the DAC. With four channels, you will need two DACs or a multichannel DAC. I opted for the two DAC solution.
The third solution is the Flex HT or SHD. The HT would address all your requirements (HDMI, CEC, multiple channels, and DAC), while the SHD could split two channels for external DACs and two channels directly to the subwoofers.
As DACs continue to improve annually, I would recommend the alternative with external DACs.
MiniDSP should consider offering a SHD HT with i2S outputs for users who prefer to rely on external high-quality DACs

I'm 2.2 channel. I have an oPPo 205 UDC that could serve as my DAC..
We have not had a TV anywhere we have lived since 2007, though I can use my 32" 3 month old Samsung desktop monitor for anything that I input to the computer or stereo.

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask a few questions about configuring the subwoofer mode on the Luxsin X9, because it’s hard to find clear information about its capabilities and the changes introduced in newer firmware versions.

I'm interested in this topic because I believe that a configurable dual subwoofer output offers fantastic potential for building a stereo system, and very few devices provide it. Here are my questions:

1. **Is there a high-pass filter linked to the low-pass filter setting on the subwoofer output?**

– For example, if I set the low-pass filter (LPF) at 80 Hz for the subwoofer, does the main network automatically receive a high-pass filter (HPF) at frequencies above 80 Hz?

2. **Is this linkage fixed, or can the high-pass filter (HPF) on the RCA/XLR outputs be bypassed or disabled to get a full-range signal?**

3. **Are the subwoofer outputs processed identically, or does each output allow independent filtering?**

4. **When the crossover is enabled, is there any phase/delay management applied?**

5. **Is the headphone output still active when the signal is sent to the RCA/XLR outputs?**

6. **How long are additional improvements and new features planned for the X9?**
I understand that every device has a certain manufacturer support period.

7. **Are any new functions or settings planned for the subwoofer configuration section?**

Luxsin’s post (#248) suggests a true, automatic bass-management system, which would be impressive at this price point — but I’d like to be 100% sure how it actually works in practice. I'm especially interested in LPF/HPF behavior, phase and delay adjustments, and any future features.

Thanks in advance for any detailed information !

[Luxsin] : when user enable subwoofer function and set the "cut off frequency" to 80Hz, a HPF at 80Hz will be automatically set to main speakers.

2. **Is this linkage fixed, or can the high-pass filter (HPF) on the RCA/XLR outputs be bypassed or disabled to get a full-range signal?**

[Luxsin] : full-range signal to main speaker while enable subwoofer is not supported for now, but we are going to implement this function in next firmware.

3. **Are the subwoofer outputs processed identically, or does each output allow independent filtering?**

[Luxsin] : Two Subwoofers processed identically, not support independent filtering.

4. **When the crossover is enabled, is there any phase/delay management applied?**

[Luxsin] : User can adjust Attenuation slope/Gain/Delay/Output type (Mono or Stereo) in subwoofer setting

5. **Is the headphone output still active when the signal is sent to the RCA/XLR outputs?**

[Luxsin] : No

6. **How long are additional improvements and new features planned for the X9?**
I understand that every device has a certain manufacturer support period.

[Luxsin] : We never planned for product support period, user can always submit their request through our forums and they will get response.

7. **Are any new functions or settings planned for the subwoofer configuration section?**

[Luxsin] : the "full range mode" is going to be released in next firmware, as per requested from our user.

Love your DAC.
One of features that will be nice is ability to use impulse response files.
This will be a killer feature.
Or add this to other eversolo products.
Sometimes I love specific choral setup, and I can impulse responce from that cathedral.
So I can repliceate that enviroment via IR file.
This is something that is common nowadays in pro recording equiment .
But imagine this killer feature.

For current functionality if you add roon streamer function on boz level that will nice.
And more features for Wifi.
Because now it is more underused.

But anyway congrats Luxsin team you did a great product.
That for me currently brings joy and hours of listening classic music and jazz like never before.

Thank you for selecting our product.
As for new feature to use IR files, both Luxsin and Eversolo products have capability to implement it, we are considering to implement it in another way, maybe in a future firmware.
Thanks

Would it be possible to give each output a separate crossover? Not just giving the subwoofer full range, but having asymmetric slopes and frequencies for the LP and HP for each output?

The X9 features a 10-band EQ with 8 filter types (LP and HP included). EQ settings can be applied independently to each output, and are automatically saved per output.
When switching between outputs, your personalized sound is instantly recalled—no readjustment required.

Looking forward to it. PS when to expect local playback of files from usb stick?
