On the physical appearance, FWIW, I had my hands on a preproduction one of these and I think it tends to look better in person than the photos I've seen. The angle of the front makes photographs a little tough. I'd prefer a matte black version, though. It certainly feels solid and well-built either way.

One criticism of the X9 (which is otherwise fantastic! ) . . . well not really a criticism of the device itself, more of a criticism of the advertising. The claimed 1080p screen (1920px X 1080px) is actually 960px x 400px . . . not even remotely close to 1080p.
There really is no need to claim it's 1080p, as it's already a very nice sharp display !

Thank you for pointing out this error. Tried to trace back why the wrong specification was used in the first place, but it’s proving difficult.

In any case, it’s our mistake, and we’ll correct it right away.

edit : in the "detail & dimensions" section, we do list it correctly as 960×400

Another mixing feature that is kinda' standard in studios / used all the time, is a DIM button, an onscreen button that momentarily reduces the output level of the speakers / headphones, typically by -10 dB allowing for quick conversations or adjustments, and importantly you can instantly return to exactly the same mixing level you were previously working at.

That's great ! It's such a useful tool in production, mixing and mastering, to be able to set - essentially - two levels, one that you are mixing at, and a second to jump to when the singer taps on your shoulder to make a mix suggestion . . . of course you can simply turn the volume down, but it's so much easier to simply tap a button to return to your working level. Looking forward to your implementation !

Уже не могу больше молчать - разработчики, ну сделайте наконец хоть один нормальный линейный индикатор уровня! Те, которые есть в анализаторах спектра, это просто кошмар какой-то. Для чего вы разнесли их по обе стороны экрана, какая в них информативность?! Почему нельзя было сделать их рядом друг с другом, сами столбики сделать немного пошире, между ними разместить шкалу в децибелах, применить нормальную цветовую гамму - зелёный-жёлтый-красный в зависимости от уровня индикации, ну и сделать чтобы они показывали удерживаемые пиковые значения?! Можно даже ещё сделать отдельный экран, который показывал-бы крупно частоту дискретизации, а снизу разместить две большие горизонтальные шкалы описанного выше индикатора . Посмотрите для наглядности, как выполнены шкалы индикаторов уровня в аудиоинтерфейсах MOTU например.

It seems you’re looking for a better looking spectrum analyzer.
Regarding the newly added spectrum displays, we actually asked for feedback from Luxsin X9 users on Head-Fi forum not long ago, since that’s where most of our active users are. As a result, we added two new spectrum analyzers in firmware version 1.0.0.16.
You’re very welcome to share your ideas there as well, if possible, please include reference images. We’ll make sure to take your suggestions seriously.

Yes, this one is also simply excellent, it could be to the left or right of the spectrum analyzers on their screens - two vertical scales next to each other, but I would also like a separate large screen on which to place a large horizontal indicator like this one below, and above it the sampling frequency and something else.

Here is an option for the appearance and color scheme of linear level indicators. Place both channels of the level indicators to the left or right of the spectrum analyzers on their screens. DO NOT make one channel to the left of the analyzer and the other to the right!

This is the Eversolo Play. Its screen is taller, and makes it more suitable to place the volume display at the bottom/top. The X9’s screen isn’t as well suited for that layout.

Why do you make such decisions yourself? Look at the Topping DX5 II screen, it is the size of a matchbox, but even there the linear level indicator at the bottom of the spectrum analyzer screen is beautifully made! I ask you to make at least one analyzer screen that will have linear level indicators at the bottom, and a separate screen with a large informative linear level indicator is also absolutely necessary.
