I have started to DJ on twitch now, my setup is a Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 physical controller connected to my MAC laptop via USB-C. I use the Pioneer Rekordbox software to provide the tracks to mix on the controller. I have had complaints/comments from viewers that my audio volume is very low. When i asked some other Twitch DJs in discord about this they recommended I use a USB DAC./Soundcard (Focusrite Clarett+ was mentioned), effectively the path would be Digital -> Analog -> Digital. This doesn't sit right with me so i want to find a way to try and increase the volume of the audio output somehow.
Things I have tried so far
- The trim controls on my controller are set to that I am not redlining the individual tracks
- The Headroom setting on the Rekordbox software is set to NONE
- Used rekordbox Aggregate Device and Blackhole 2CH on my laptop to send audio to both the FLX10 controller and the Blackhole 2CH midi device - This gave me a small boost in volume.
The only other way to boost the volume is in my streaming software (OBS Studio), I can increase the volume of the audio device but this is no ideal as it's not really designed to be an audio mixer and distorts the resulting steam audio.
Any suggestions on what to explore further would be appreciated.
