Is there anyone here that could help me design a low-pass filter please. For use with a pair of headphones to try and raise the bass on a flat frequency-response closer to the Harman Target.

Say:
  • flat to 50hz
  • reducuing from 0 to -4db between 50hz to 110hz
  • -4db from 110hz and above.
Thanks

That’s not a low-pass… in any case, what kind of filter? Passive, active, DSP? What is the headphone?

Try AutoEQ:

@RomfordNavy - take a look at the website by @solderdude - there have been many headphone models tested, and suggested passive filters to tweak the response.

Your headphone model may be there (you don't state which headphones you have) - and maybe there's a filter there which will solve the issue you are trying to solve.

FT7 is not Harman compliant in the bass (just a few dB under Harman in the bass, just like the JT7)

A passive shelf filter between DAC and amp is possible, perhaps not as steep as you would like. (4dB over one octave)

What would you be able to build to do this and what would the frequency response be? Depending on it's size I already have a suitable box which has XLR-3 inputs and outputs; was originally an audio transformer isolator unit.

I would need to know the input resistance of the used amplifier is and which DAC is used (mainly for the output resistance).

Best to take this to P.M.
